The Sancaster Islands Report
General Summary
Members of DAOMN gathered on the deck of the Leviathan the evening after the battle with the Kraken. The crew lined in two rows as members of the party spoke about Heiron Nymus. They spoke of the sense of leadership and kind-hearted nature of the great Tortle. A quiet came over the crew, the sound of waves lapping against the side of the boat the only sound as Heiron's shell, wrapped in silks, was passed gently between the two columns of crew members to the bow of the ship. The captain and first mate stood quietly as the members of the party cast the shell to the Glastawa Depths. After some discussions over the course of the evening, Isla came to a decision to come under the employ of the Leviathan and her captain. She told the members of her party that she believed she could discover the "source of the evil" that drove the Kraken to attack and scared Ms.Crimsby. She gave a gift of a pouch of Healing Wards as the party prepared to leave for the Sancaster Islands. The party lowered to the water in the longboat, as two crew members rowed them to shore.
The crew rowed DAOMN to a small island on the edge of the chain. As they approached the small island, four figured burst out from the treeline. After a moment, they turned to prepare for something else coming out from the trees. A humanoid pursued them and began attacking them with elemental energies. DAOMN watched with interest as he dispatched the four men with ease. As the last went down, he grabbed him and began to interrogate him. Once the party landed, they introduced themselves cautiously to the man, who introduced himself as Dewinn. Yendor noticed a slip of paper hanging out of one of the men's coats on the ground. Upon investigation, he found it bore the mark of the Cult of the Fanged Eye. Dewinn spoke up, saying that the men he pursued bore that same mark. It seemed their interests were aligned. He shared information about a camp of the men on the other side of the island, and the companions departed. They stealthily approached the camp and managed to dispatch the nearly dozen inhabitants. Dewinn proved himself useful in combat, providing aid with elemental and healing abilities. As Lehiri dispatched the leader, Dewinn quickly stabilized him to prevent his death. He then turned him over to Lehiri for interrogation. They discovered that he was an expedition leader, tasked with preventing people from snooping around the island. He claimed there were strange creatures in other parts of the island, but they were tasked to just watch the coasts for anyone sticking their nose where it didn't belong. After deliberation on what to do with him, Martiri ended the discussion by quickly killing the captive. Inside the leader's tent, Lehiri used a key from the mercenary leader to open a locked chest. Inside were coins, a magical potion, and enchanted hide armor. The party disguised the camp and prepared to rest before venturing further into the island. Throughout the night, strange droning noises were heard coming from deeper within the forest.
