Episode 12: New Faces in Hlondeth

General Summary

6 Mirtul, 1374DR   After a day recovering from the Temple of Auppenser, Shay is asked to provide the services for the Temple of Ilmater for which he came to Hlondeth: testing initiates. The faithful were also informed by the powers that be in Hlondeth that they should be out of the White Rose by the end of the month.    Svent pays out the gold from the previous adventure to the party, and leaves a message for Mirko at the Rebel Harp.      7 Mirtul   Shay visits Sellennis and learns his brother, Sessel, has come to Hlondeth. Shay invites them to join the group venturing to the Rebel Harp in the evening.    Sellennis introduces Xandos Nightstar and his brother, Sessel, and the group explains that they have come to Hlondeth to warn Sellennis of a rival family that has tried to kill Sessel. Plus Xandos had been having run ins with an old adversary.    At the Harp, Shay is befriended by Nereida again. After some teasing, he later recalls that he was going to get the old holy symbol from her. She happens to have it and he gives it to Dust.    Sessel explains that he has had dreams about this symbol and believes Helm has sent him to assist Dust. They inquire where Mirko got it, and he confesses he didn't find it, he bought it hoping to make a quick coin from Iss'tamin, then didn't really know how to find more. But he knows someone to ask, and agrees to meet them in three nights to discuss it.    While drinking at the Harp, you all overheard a few brief, quiet conversations of the rebels becoming more active. There is even a brief mention of houses of yuan-ti starting to have friction between them.    On his way home, in the alley near his house, Svent encounters Zak-yek, who somewhat wildly tells him to keep an eye out on lightning storms. He explains (more of less) that his queen is seeking the dragon eggs that the strange-colored lightning leaves behind.    10 Mirtul   When the group gathers at the Slithering Serpent, Mirko has information about the rough whereabouts of the ruins south of the city. A plan is made to meet back here the morning the 12 Mirtul and make their way past the point of the bay to find what might be left of Lirremar in the valley there.
