Session 27 - The Contract

General Summary

65th Rainfell   The day begins as the adventurers all arrive at Shido's Boathouse, ready for their first mission in the contract!   They receive their mission and sail out of the cove, down the coast of Kotoxi Mari and to the small artificer village of Izoku, pulling their ship into the dock just seven hours after leaving - their trip is greatly helped by Ila's four summoned Gorillas, who continue to help with reeling the sail out and other ship activities.   At Izoku, they deliver the Plucky One boat near the estate of Artifex Ponfa, who ordered the little boat, and meet Ponfa's burly bodyguard Brog, who seems very strong and is of an undeterminable race, as well as Ponfa's drunk assistant, Sharbin Tosscobble.   They decide to stay in Izoku for the night - Ila, Panser and Akio go to the popular Tin Drum Tavern, which is an incredible and bizarre tavern - drinks are sold as different colours, with no explanation of flavour or contents. Someone plays frantic saxophone music in the background. Upstairs, there is a VIP Lounge, which costs 20 gp to get into - Panser, Ila and Akio pay to get in, then Panser and Ila get two of the VIP drinks. They get them incredibly drunk, Panser attempts a backflip which fails horribly, and soon they lose track of time. Akio goes home.   Meanwhile, Elxis explores the Artificer town, fascinated by the variety of items available. She buys some parts from the Bitz Box, and eventually enough parts to fully enchant her Deerhorn Knives, a project she is soon beginning.   66th Rainfell   Elxis and Akio wake up at home.   Panser and Ila, however, have very different experiences. After heavy drinking, Panser awakens in a library after seemingly reading an entire saga of novels while drunk. Ila awakens naked, alongside another naked woman, in her house, who tells Ila "That was a wild night!", however, Ila has no memory of the last night's happenings.   Panser and Ila stagger back to the boat, and Akio musters everyone. Ila summons her gorillas again, and now they are ready to sail back to Alduran. The exit is difficult, but eventually, they are off, sailing upwind towards Alduran. Around eight and a half hours later, they reach Alduran in the evening, about eight o clock.   Docking it at Alduran is perhaps even more chaotic, but eventually, they manage to get it into its place, tie it up and leave it for the night. Congratulating each other for their hard work, they disembark and decide to spend the night in their new home which has just finished being renovated - the Steelbeak ship.   Ila, late at night, goes out to the markets, going to Tisana the Animal Dealer to buy pet food and a blanket for her new cat, Beans.   Panser, however, is growing concerned about Flint. He had messaged Flint to meet them at the Cove, but Flint showed no signs of coming, and had not replied to a single one of Panser's message spells.   67th Rainfell   Panser stays at the boat basically all day, holding down the fort and using Sending to message Ila, while waiting to see where Flint is. Flint is still nowhere to be seen.   Ila, meanwhile, attempts to find Flint, who hasn't shown up for ages, by transforming into a Falcon and flying around while casting Locate Item on his Rustbringer sword. She finds Flint's Rustbringer in a sewage pipe, but no trace of Flint himself.   Meanwhile, Elxis travels to the Blackspice marketplace to try and sell the Bag of Luring. After multiple failed attempts at selling, it has gotten quite late. She stumbles across a Gray Order Artificer named Izaakh - a terrifying man, who has a liquid-filled glass, chains hanging from his hair, the signature Gray Order robe, three swords and silver metal veins in his skin.   Izaakh steals his bag of luring, which angers Elxis. Elxis decides to use Disguise Self to mirror Izaakh's appearance, before confronting Izaakh himself. Izaakh is confused and enraged, and attempts to kill this mirror of himself, and the still disguised Elxis ends up running away with one of Izaakh's magic items, which he drops. Elxis turns off her disguise to try and get that dropped item, but is attacked by Izaakh.   After this insane and terrifying encounter, Elxis runs, though now she has first hand experience with one of the famed Gray Order artificers.
