Session 29 - The Moonshine Festival
General Summary
The contract continues! 74th Rainfell The adventurers spend a relaxed evening on the eve of the Moonshine festival and get a drink off a wandering Moonshine salesman. 75th Rainfell The last day of Rainfell heralds the coming of the new season, and the Moonshine Festival begins! The adventurers get up early after a good sleep. They meet Arkud, Geoffrey, Carmil and Danryn outside Shido's Boathouse and head out to town to find somewhere to celebrate the festival at. They see plenty of people getting ready to celebrate. They stumble across a man working on a brand new tavern - The Golden Barrel Lounge - which is opening tonight! The man is a strong and affable man of Tsiro descent named Paldar Koser. He invites them to help build the tavern up to get it ready faster, setting up furniture and painting the walls, so it's ready for the big Moonshine opening. After helping, they ask Paldar to let them perform their magical "bear routine" - involving Ila transforming into a bear, and fighting illusory creatures conjured with Panser's ring of visions, while Panser and Geoffrey play exciting music on their instruments. It's been a success in the past, and Paldar is more than happy to let them. Ila decides to use Skywrite to write a giant promotion advertisement for the performance in the sky over Alduran. Problem is, it's too much publicity. While the performers practice, they slowly realise that the advertisement is probably visible to the entirety of Alduran's populace, or at least people in a 3 mile radius or so. Panic slowly builds as an enormous crowd gathers around the tiny, freshly-built tavern. The performance is attended by 1,000+ people, including a couple nobles and plenty of merchants or vendors of Moonshine. The crowd bustles the streets and clings to the rooves and walls of buildings, climbing trees or whatever they can do to be able to see the performance. It goes amazingly. The performers all work together splendidly. But as the performance wraps up, the crowd breaks through the makeshift guard barrier of hired arms to swarm the stunned performers. They rush inside, using a Wall of Water to fend off the rampaging crowds, and go into the basement of the tavern to use the escape route. They end up making over a hundred gold pieces each, and gain enormous fame in the city. They all get good long sleeps aboard the Steelbeak. 1st Moonshine They wake up fresh in the morning, a new season begun.
