Session 24 - Amends

General Summary

54th Rainfell   Elxis has fled to the markets, feeling distressed, angry and confused. She waits by the stall where she hopes to buy the Mindshield ring, so that she can no longer have her mind read, but is attacked by two Ravencrest gangers, who take away her deerhorn knives and expensive Kaldar pistol. She is saved from death by a group of Quarterstone gangers, who stabilise her and unsuccessfully try to chase down her attackers, before they must leave. The Kaldar pistol is now gone.   Panser, Flint and Ila are not comfortable letting her just run- Panser casts Sending and tells Elxis to wait for them outside the closed Miscellany stall. Ila comes first, having flown over in bird form, and the others arrive soon. There is a heated exchange, and Panser begins to convince Elxis that she has a chance at living without exploiting people, though he is angry that Elxis lost the Kaldar Pistol.   Elxis goes home with Panser, Ila and Flint.   55th Rainfell   The adventurers awake late in the day and begin to search the city for the lost Kaldar Pistol- Elxis, Flint and Panser in one group, Ila travelling alone. Ila and Flint know the Locate Object spell so they spend hours searching parts of the city in the hopes of finding the Pistol, though their search is unsuccessful.   Later in the day, they find a proper stable to keep their horses in at night.   56th Rainfell   Despite their defeat yesterday, the adventurers continue their search of the city today. They search far and wide across many parts of the city, and though they do get to know the layout of the enormous city better, they are unsuccessful in finding the Pistol. After today, they lose hope of finding it, dispirited by the enormity of the city and the amount of places the weapon could be.   57th to the 63rd Rainfell - Downtime   A week passes, and pushing the pistol to the back of their heads, the group begins various activities. Elxis forges a new pair of Deerhorn knives to replace those she lost- returning to artificer work is comforting for her and lets her take her mind off things.   Panser starts brewing beer, due on 16th Moonshine, and then he starts performing every night, spending the days exploring the city and it's many sights.   Ila explores the city alongside Panser, though does not search for a stable job of any kind. As for flint, he mostly just drifts around the city and begins to settle in.   At one point, Ila, Flint, Panser, Elxis and Akio meet at the Blackspice Markets, shortly after Ila bought her new cat- Beans- and Akio summoned his new owl familiar- Prometheus. They browse the Miscellany magic shop, Ila buying a War Wand and Elxis buying a Belt of Strength. But after buying these products they start to discuss an idea- the idea of buying a ship.   Now interested, this whole group takes the long trip down to Shido's Boathouse, one of many outlets for the Kiden Shipyard's exports. They inquire as to the price of a robust-looking keelboat and find it well out of their price range- coming in at 3,000 gold pieces- but Shido makes another offer. For five weeks, they will pilot ships around from the shipyard to the various selling locations all across Kotoxi Mari, to help Shido's business, and if they do so successfully, they can have the Keelboat for free.   Ready for a new adventure- and Akio cautiously joining- they accept the offer. On the 66th of Rainfell, they will begin their new job and make the first shipment.
