General Summary

Waking from a well-deserved rest, our group decides to make preparations for the journey ahead. Fionna decides to keep Hallie company, while waiting for other members' return.   At The Iron Price, Trygve insists Corvino should buy some sort of armor. They acquire a few utensils of war and Kushala Sspagittári asks Brumadin for permission to use the forge, with the objective of forging a simple dagger out of a piece of Orichalcum he had sneakily acquired from the pyramid beneath the town. Meanwhile, Trygve heads to The Sundered Goods, where he buys several rations and traveling assets, as well as an obnoxious amount of oil, as per Kushala's request. While waiting for the orc, Corvino decides to experiment with the dagger he found in Thalnar's room, finding the weapon to be capable of returning to his hand. Amelia, on the other hand, attempts to solve the puzzle of the scroll Corvino had found, figuring it was probably used as some means of communication.   Upon Trygve's return, the orc buys a few gifts for some of the acquaintances he met at the town, and everyone but Kushala tries to rest once more, with varying degrees of success. After meeting with Lyssele and loudly shouting at Kor Doguhm's entrance, the group heads southward, through the White Cliffs.   As they make camp for the first night, Lyssele innocently asks how was Hallie's birthday, a fact that had gone unnoticed by the group. After quickly assembled makeshift party, Hallie insists no harm had been done, admitting their help was sufficient. Regardless, Kushala, with the aid of Amelia, forges a silver ring with a squirrel insignia as a gift and Trygve promises to buy her something nice once they reach a big city.   As the second day's march begins a second road intersects their path. For the remainder of the day, the group sees dozens of pilgrims, merchants and common folk walking the same road as them. As they travel, they wear a trio of men talking about some sort of tournament: the winners, a pair of elves, were apparently chosen by Lord Eblic to accompany him in La Grande Poursuite, a decision the men find folly.   As night encroaches, the group sits around the campfire. Corvino snaps and suddenly asks "Who the fuck are you?". He argued he knew nothing about the people who he traveled with, while they knew about all the crazy stuff that he had gone through the last few days. After a tiresome discussion, Trygve is nominated as the group's leader, due to his natural talents and each of the travelers decide to share a bit about themselves.   Kushala speaks about his apprenticeship as a blacksmith and alchemist, in the Naga's home province, in Crescent Reefs. He describes his people as "simply appearing somewhere within the island" and talks briefly about the incident which caused him to lose his eye. Kushala also mentions he would stay with the group as long as they did not stop him from collecting samples or finishing his research.   Amelia reveals she is an orphan. Her goal is to find a man who was responsible for destroying the church in which she lived, somewhere North of Nolzir, the man who murdered the one who had taken care of her: Amelia, a priestess of Edrena, who taught the girl everything she knew. The young girl also reveals a crow-like tattoo on her harm, which prompts Kushala to suggest amputating her arm. Despite the threats, Amelia continues her tale, also revealing she met Fionna while undertaking some odd jobs. After a series of coincidences, they decided to travel together.   Corvino explains how he spent most of his time as a thief, fence, burglar, bodyguard and all sorts of criminal-like professions to whoever paid him. He talks about the events that led him to lose his arm: he was paid to protect a client, but his party was ambushed. Despite being amputated, he managed to get his client to safety and, for that, he was rewarded with a new arm. Corvino talks about how he keeps a memento of everything he ought to remember: the metallic arm, the feathers of the harpy who nearly killed him and the bolts which took his life. After some inquiry, he also figures he has no idea about his age, nor the fate of his parents nor where he really came from. He's just as surprised as they are about the fact that he's helping a bound goddess of sort and worries about the other three entities mentioned in the menhir they found.   Fionna describes how she spent most of her childhood living as a cat and later as a scholar. To prove her claims, she transformed into a cat, proving she was, indeed, a mythical Ferren. Amazed, Kushala attempts to capture Fionna using a net, but isn't successful. The girl then proceeds to explain how she had a knack for magic from an early age and talks about how she's able to bend time for a brief few instants. Then, she tells the group about the entity who coexists in her body, an entity named Fionn. The entity introduces himself, warning the group he would not let any harm come to pass to Fionna, before disappearing once again unto her subconscious. Corvino is saddened, as he actually liked Fionn, probably more than Fionna.   The orc mentions how he lived and worked in a farm before taking the mantle of a mercenary and working with several employers. He briefly describes an encounter he had with a beast who grievously scarred one of his arms. Lyssele is intrigued by his story and questions Trygve if he started worked as a mercenary immediately after leaving the farm. When Fionna inquires the orc about his family, he dismisses the question, saying he would talk about it a later date.   When it comes to Hallie's turn, she describes how her mother died at childbirth and how her father blamed her for the incident. While his brother was the role model, Hallie was seen as a useless klutz, incapable of doing her duties. When she found a friend in Myra, her father relieved the woman of her duties, placing Alyse as Hallie's aide. She describes her life as being boring and uneventful, unlike theirs, which brimmed with adventure.   The group then expectantly looks towards Lyssele. She sighs, and tells how she too led a simple life. She was borne in the Shaded District where she led a rather mundane life. When her mother left her father, Lyssele was taken with her. She eventually joined the military, and was eventually sent to serve in Kor Doguhm. Lyssele says she would like to meet her father privately when they reach Novaria and make amends. Trygve, ever helpful, offers to club her father, if need be.   Eventually, the group retires. During the first watch, Corvino's sword is struck by a small lightning current, changing its shape. Lyssele watches the event in disbelief, preferring not to talk about it. Over the second turn, Fionna hears a panicked dwarf running towards their camp. The man begs for help, claiming his group was attacked by two ogres, ogres which shouldn't be so close to the road to Vog Thurum. The heroes make haste towards the camp, leaving Hallie, Lyssele and the panicked man behind.   They fight a valiant battle with the two creatures, but notice something's wrong. One of the ogres appeared to be grabbing the second and attacked only after being provoked. The other ogre appeared to be in a beast-like state, with patches of misplaced fur growing from his skin and a horn growing from the side of his skin. Corvino tries to parley with one of the creature's, to some success, but when Trygve launched a strike against the ogre's compatriot, the creature became enraged. Eventually, the group fell the two creatures with little harm to themselves. Then, Kushala remembered: the patches of fur that sprouted from the giant's skin were similar to the ones they found in the deserted village, four days earlier.
