Session 10: Temptations in the Jungle

General Summary

• They present the scale to Azzat Titanbane, who takes it and hides it away for safety.

• After parting with Splug , who has now taken over the band of goblins, the party attempts to get back on course.

• They speculate a few different ways to cross the chasm without a bridge, and eventually Azzat suggests going around—either a few days to the north and through the edges of the Green Maw, or the shorter but more dangerous route to the south. The party decides to go north, since it is Soma-Rai's territory.

• They trek through forest that makes way to swamp and eventually thick jungle-like vegetation. They dispatch a few carnivorous plants along the way and Bengt, Kayl, and Soma-Rai are forced to shake off some ethereal whispers that seem to haunt them. Soma-Rai succeeds, but Bengt and Kayl do so poorly.

• The night before they exit the jungle, Bengt and Kayl fight off these whispers again. And though Kayl succeeds, Bengt falls to their seduction and is unable to sleep. During the night he steals the Scale from Azzat and the party wakes to find Bengt holding it and a very angry Azzat.
