Session XIX: Revelations & Tribulations Report

General Summary

With the current situation weighing on his soul, Malaveth decided to unearth his most obscure memories. His curiosity led him to commander Eira's office, where he asked for reminders of his companions. Unfortunately, Lady Eira told him that no one knew his companions as well as he himself other than maybe his commander.

Not happy with the answers he got, Malaveth asked for another way to recover his blurry memories. The commander reluctantly told him of the witch living in the outskirts of Syrendille whose remedies were praised by her subjects. Malaveth took this information and asked his companions to accompany him to the witch's house.

In front of the witch's house, they found a huge man with pale blue skin, thin icy horns and black long hair combed in a ponytail. He told them to turn away and that it was impossible to get anything from the witch. With the help of the huge man, who turned out to be Magnus Krauss, the adventurer's guild grandmaster, they managed to convince the witch to let them in. Promising to fulfill her current request posted at the adventurer's guild.

The witch introduced herself as Atarah Belladonna, and prersented her two issuses to the party. The witch explained that one of her problems was the disappeareance of one of his benefactors, Buldugran, the leader of a yeti clan that has mysteriously gone missing for some time. Her other problem, which she deemed more urgent and perilous was that she got her hands in one of Ku'Ladur's maps. A map with a pocket dimension fully made from magical ink. But this was no ordinary magical map, it contains the famous scribe's abode as well as a powerful weapon created by one of his most prominent pupils, the Silhouette Slaughter. Atarah clarified that she had no use for the weapon, but would like all traps removed from the scribe's abode so that she could puruse it at her leisure. With this knowledge, Malaveth asked if she would grant him a private audience after they dealt with this last mission to which she agreed.

After business was done, Atarah took interest in two of the party's members, Genzaburo and Coraline. The ronin caught the attention of the witch thanks to his rare lineage. She told him that she had read about creatures like him, but only those who dwelled in the underdark, never on the surface. Genzaburo asked for one of this books as part of the payment for their missions and the witch's attention shifted to Coraline. She took particular interest to who her creator may be, who the doll revealed to be Athanasia, Atarah's grandmother. This piqued her interest even further and she started asking more questions about her, discovering in the process all their vampiric tribulations.

Freaked out by the information she learned, she asked them to be careful with their actions from then on. After that she gave the map to Magnus and they all left Atarah's house to prepare for their mission the next day.

The next morning, they went to the Adventurer's Guild where Genzaburo met a furry little being that was working on the forge of weapons like the one he took from the boat. The creature introduced himself as L'Arséne and said that he could ask for his services for the right fee.

Meanwhile, Malaveth found himself before a group of unhappy adventurer's, Fausto, Katya, Locus and Seaz, discussing the introduction of Royal Guard's to the guild with Evalina, the receptionist of the guild. The adcenturer's where agitated and Malaveth's pride in the guard didn't help de-escalate the situation that ended up ensuing in a fight, shortly after interrupted by Magnus. The grandmaster apologized for the behaviour of the adventurers and went ask the guild's alchemist, Humperdink, to give them a few superior healing potions as an apology. Geared up and ready, they went inside the map's dimension to complete their new mission.
