  The Shaar

  The Shaar is a vast land of plains in south Faerûn. The lands to the west of the Landrise are generally called the Shaar, while those to the east are the Eastern Shaar.   Current Year: 1456 DR   The Spellplague has come and gone (1385 DR–1395 DR) and after the devastation that resulted from those times the Shaar is damaged but not yet reduced to the desert wasteland that will be known as the "Shaar Desolation" in the future.
