Session 1: Origins of the Abericlase Report

General Summary

Last we left off, the group had some much needed rest and conversation. During this downtime, Anngorhast received a notification from his sword stating that the star smith was returning back and bearers should make their way back for this wonderful event. The group then unwelded the door and continued through, fighting their way through kobolds and more will o wisps. Eventually, they came to a room with a large crystal where Reese decided he wanted to investigate it and touched it and a large, crystal troll errupted from the ground. A great battle ensued and the group was able to take down the creature. With the death of this beast, the group was able to find the exit and make their way outside of the tower. During this time, the conversation about the book came up again and Dart gave the book back to Doc where Doc then grapped Dart, shook him to make sure that he didn't have anything else of his and let him go where Dart took to the sky in fear of his life.    Traveling towards their next destination, the group made their way towards the outside lands of the Mystara territory and towards the town of Sreron. Upon entering the town, they came across a group of young children playing pretend that they were the "five guys" and they also ran across a wedding. As they made their way towards some of the magic shops, they ran across a butcher that had his hand stuck in a meat grinder; however, while Ray was tending to this man the rest of the group noticed a large creature standing behind them eating a hand that seemed to shimmer in and out of existance. With visits to a few shops, the group found that that there had been strange happenings occurring mostly at night. During their research, Ray ran across an old journal that had been tucked away in the library that documented some of the more stranger dealings and talks of a time hag as well as the possibility of another hag. During this time there were some shenanagins between doc and the bird and eventually, Doc decided to judge the bird by the standards of his faith.   The group began noticing strange happenings beginning to occur around town as darkness took control, especially dart who began to hear whispers and voices as he searched for a place to roost. The very shadows seemed to try to reach out and grab him. The rest of the group had similar experiences in the inn as they prepared for their rest. Ray had two women disentegrate around him leaving no blood or anything. Anngorhast had a conversation with a mirror. Doc went to go perform a ceremony for the married couple and then had a conversation with himself in the mirror. Reese kept hearing a voice asking him to jump out of a window. When they awakened the next morning, the tavern was empty and behind the bar a mothman appeared and warned them that they were being watched and hunted. The very sun almost seemed to have been blotted out and the group decided that it was best that they left. After purchasing a cart and horse, they made their way out of town, passing by wheat fields towards their next destination...which happened to have a large clocktower and appeared exactly as the town that they had left. After some debating, they attempted to leave again, passing by the wheat fields where they encountered a small frog. Stopping the cart, they attempted communication before the scarecrow in the field came to life and a frog-like warrior attacked the group. They were able to fend them off and began to gather their bearings before Anngorhast received a message in his head. A woman. Someone from his past who was returning with the star smith would like to see him again in Llanfyl should he be able to.    And with that, we pick up here...a message to be sent, a verdict to be reached, and of course...a town that doesn't want you to leave. So...what do now?
