Session 2: Origins of the Abericlase Report

General Summary

Last we left off the group had successfully dispatched the scarecrow and frog wizard. Doc eventually apologized to Dart while Ray repaired the cart that they were on. As they began to move off, Dart landed in the cart; however Annghorhast had a verdict that he had to uphold. With Annghorhast's words, Dart attempted to take the sword; however, due to an unlucky twist of fate the sword fell on him and court was then in session. With the pleas of Doc and Dart, the verdict commenced and judgement was cast. Dart chose 15 words which translated to 15 words of radiance from the sword bearer. After taking the verdict, the group continued on taking note of the the warping of the skies and lands around them as the somberweave hag was bending reality around them to hold them in. Dart flew up to investigate and the rest of the group followed, realizing that reality was bending around them and they were stuck. The group headed back to the inn to take a long rest before heading off to the clock tower. After some investigations outside, dart making his way inside, the group made their way inside where more froggy warriors attacked them both above and below. With some decisive strikes, Dart fell from the first floor and Annghorhast come to realize that he wasn't doing very well with close quarters combat and yeeted one of the dead bodies to the archer above them. Eventually, the group felled the beasts and investigated the office where they were able to find a secret entrance. Down, down, down the group went until they ran across the creature that they had seen eating the hand of the butcher...and he was eating the remains fo the married couple that had been at the inn the day before! Going on the attack, the creature swallowed Annghorhast while the Gnorc swung hard...twice, forcing the creature to throw the sword bearer up where he delivered the final blow. Unfortunately, the acidic blood that splashed back on him rendered him unconscious, so both bearer and beast lay defeated. After reviving Annghorhast, the group continued further into the pocket of shadowfell that the somberweave hag had laid out as her domain. With some colorful and slightly reckless banter Ray stepped up to bat and immediately threw two strikes, lying about both the man that he'd heard off called the hat as well as Arty Phice. The third description of a man called Smithy that killed her sister was enough to sate her tastebuds for revenge and it was time to start packing up. For this, she spared their lives, sending them outside of her territory. As the twilight slowly began to break into the morning sky off in the distance the group could see the remains of the city of Adheath and the next step on their journey.
