Session 67: Are We the Baddies?
General Summary
The party awoke and began to discuss and formulate their plans to free Narahm the Leviathan over breakfast. They would see if Argon had anything for them to dismantle the plinths with, but also considered attacking some of the forces trying to hold back Acacia the Reaching Green's kudzu advancing on the city. The party waited for Argon's arrival, but after a bit, only Mimsey arrived. She told the party that Argon quickly ushered her out of his workshop as people had arrived and began asking questions of Argon. The party decided to investigat, planning on using the remaining charges on their Hats of Disguise to arrive as Argon's entourage. However, they discovered that Donk had used his remaining charges while the party was gone to appear as a pretty princess, but he was too small, so then he transformed himself into a halfling. Ultimately, the party went, ready to make due with their disguises once they arrived at Argon's shop. As the party arrived at Argon's workshop, they saw through the windows that two guards stood just inside the door and Argon was being interrogated by Silence and the Archmage Hollow. The party decided that it would be too risky to fight the archmage, so they went to take out one of the groups that were holding back the kudzu advancement. The party found a group of Oleander forces fighting back the advancing kudzu, consisting of a paladin, two battle mages, a couple of soldiers, and living fireballs. The Oleander forces were already combatting the reaching vines and several of the botanical undead and stranglers. The party joined the fight against the Oleander forces. Zadoc used his grappling hook to advance up quickly, nearer to the advancing kudzu and he cast Plant Growth, empowering the kudzu to advance even further and to be stronger against the Oleander forces as it began to advance faster and grab the soldiers, thought the living fireballs burned away the vines and were not grappled. As one of the living fireballs cast its spell, Millie absorbed it and then charged the wizard nearby, greating damaging him in the process. Tiarjead cast a spell encasing an area in fog, restricting the ability for the fire and living fireballs to advance. As the battle raged on, the party stopped the fleeing wizards and Bolvaic charged the paladin of the All-Father, knocking her off of the bridge into the stream and holding her under the water to drown her, however, as he held her down he realized that she was feigning the struggle and that she was wearing the same coral ring that the party had that allowed them to breathe underwater.
