Session 42: The Pieces are Falling Together? Report

General Summary

The party parted from Renaer Neverember outside the City of the Dead, a giant cemetary in the eastern section of Waterdeep.   They returned to Trollskull Manor and Tavern, which was reopened for the first time since Fire(plot:0724759e-284a-4883-b9ce-c6af77ebb105). @[Wella Kettlewhistle's employees, Toby, a surly half-elven woman, Corben, a dwarven man with intricate beard braids, and Aldhelm, an older tortle with a yellow-green shell covered in bits of plaster. They tell you that the stranger hanging around the worksite the day before was very ordinary. Lillian Haekin tells you he asked a little about shops in the alley, but nothing specific. They all can tell you little about the man.   After an argument about the security of the home, Cameron Overholt creates an infusion on the door to the cellar to yell "You there! Get away from our cellar!" Lillian isn't super pleased.   Lillian tells you she has been talking to Fala Lefaliir about getting exotic teas for the tavern, which you all approve of. She also intimates that Zephan Wit, your tiefling bartender, spent much of the day flirting with a patron named Marius, who chatted with him and children. He seemed interested in the fireball incident. Zephan says he was an arms dealer who was in the area trying to strike a deal with the Gralhund family. The kids reveal he also asked about the nimblewright. Nat also reveals he knew a type of sign language. She also said some of the people working at Sea Maiden's Faire used a type of sign language.   Jalester Silvermane arrives and tells you he's also been asking around after nimblewrights. He says the City Armory's nimblewright does not match the description of the nimblewright that caused the explosion. He also says the nimblewright in the House of Wonders, the temple of Mystra, does also not match the description.   Cameron makes friends with your neighbor Vincent Trench, the local detective who slammed his door in your faces when you started asking a lot of questions. They have a Batman-off for a while. He eventually reveals that he deduced that Urstul Floxin, a leader of the Zhentarim, escaped the explosion quickly after it happened. He's also questioned some of the neighbors and learned that an employee of the nearby Gralhunds have been looking for nimblewright replacement parts. Tally Fellbranch and Rishaal confirm that a half-orc with a cleft pallet had come to their shops asking for strange things.   The kids tell you they've seen some shady people near the Gralhund Villa and that the groundskeeper is mean. Recently they've seen gazers, small beholder-like creatures in the area.   The party heads for a late-night visit of Gralhund Villa, where they find a large walled compound. As they discuss what to do next they hear a scream coming from inside the villa.
