The Elder of the Village, Keeper Josran holds all of the village's history. The village's stories are told by oral tradition, passed down from one Keeper to the next. As Josran ages, his young pupil Tyra aims to be the best Keeper she can be to preserve the village's knowledge and stories.

Respected and revered for his knowledge and wisdom, Keeper Josran is the spiritual and cultural leader in town. While his position does not hold explicit political sway, his knowledge of the stories of the people of the village grants him respect and reverance in most things, and his opinions are taken by some as law. He has grown quite old, and time waits for no one, and so he has concentrated recently on educating his Scribe who will be the next Keeper when he dies.
