Born in the border town of Rimeband. Her parents were killed in the border conflicts when she was very young. She lived in an orphanage for a few years before joining the hero's guild to get out.

One of her friends from Rimeband, Zayn, joined the guild with her. He did not adjust to it well and confided to her, tearfully, how he was not cut out for that life. He was badly injured in a training accident and left the guild. Cadea strongly suspects he caused the accident on purpose and feels guilty that she didn't tell anyone about his issues.
