Born (she presumes) on the island of Mintarn, Aeliana never knew anything of her parents. Left with and raised by a small, austere sect of monks, but growing into adolescence in the service and under the protection of "Happy" Gorendor, leader of the local Thieves Guild, she believed she was destined for that life until an error in judgement with disastrous repercussions left her marked for death by the Zhentarim and bereft of the Guild's protection. Promptly and unceremoniously smuggled off the island, Aeliana found herself dumped on the mainland to fend for herself, alone.
