Being the son of retired adventurers, Steve always heard thrilling stories of the adventures of his parents. Those stories were often about glorious battles against fierce monsters & villains, seeing all kinds of lands & waters, exploring ancient ruins & caves, meeting new comrades from other tribes and races. Surely his parents exaggerated a lot to brag in front of their son but it did not matter to him when he was still a child.
A fateful encounter would change his carefree innocent demeanor when a group of dwarfs, who were on their way to the capital, stopped by their village to restock their supplies. Among them is an arrogant noble named Thorbran just a couple of years older than Steve. Curious as Steve is, he carelessly approached the noble hoping to hear some exciting stories from him. Thorbran, well aware of his status as a noble, couldn't believe that a lowly peasent like Steve would dare approach him like that and decided to teach this lowlife a lesson. Poor Steve, not knowing the situation he's in, got himself thrown to the ground and stepped on his head multiple times by the noble. Around them were a few Villagers who as soon as they discovered the scene turned their heads the other way not even thinking about helping. "Know your place you filthy rat!!!" shouted Thorbran and left afterwards just like that. Totally in shock and in pain, Steve still couldn't move for a while. For the very first time in his life he experienced cruelty and helplessness. In that moment he learned that the world is not just fun & games like in the stories of his parents. Surprisingly Steve did not care about his injuries. In fact it didn't even hurt that much. It was his helplessness that he was shocked about the most. He couldn't do anything but watch it happen. He didn't even get help from the dwarfs from his village. This could not stand and he decided to learn how to fight from his parents.
Serveral years passed ever since the incident and Steve grew to be a hardworking and diligent young man (yeah he is still a dwarf but you know what I mean). After trying out a variety of weapons and other ways of fighting like magic casting it turned out that Steve's strength lies in his resilient and strong body. During these years he did not only learn how to fight but he also learned something about himself. Steve likes fighting a lot.
One day a crisis befell his home village. A monsterous gigantic boar appeared and went on a rampage while all capable fighters like Steve's parents were out in the woods looking and hunting for supplies for the coming winter. At first it just ate some of the farmers growing vegetables. But when they tried to get rid of it by scaring it with their farmers tools, it suddenly began attacking them. Once it started the boar didn't stop even when the farmers gave up and ran away. Now the dwarfs were the hunted. Fortunately a farmers boy saw the scene from afar at the village main gate. He rushed down the main street screaming and crying desperately trying to warn everybody. Steve heard it as well and came out wondering what the big deal was. When he looked at the direction from where the boy was running, he saw the large boar charging behind the boy. Steve jumped in his path standing in front of the boar and shouted "Come and fight me!!!". When they both collided with a loud bashing sound, both the boar and Steve were thrown back. Afterward they got back up and they charged right into each other. And so it went on both clashing at each other and neither one of them backing down. The fight lasted even until the sun set and the adults came back from their work in the forest. When they arrived the dwarfs couldn't believe what just unfolded before their eyes. Steve and the boar were still fighting on the main road. They were both extremely exhausted but still continued attacking each other. Finally as the adults heard from the other villagers what happened while they were away, they rushed to Steve's aid and quickly dispatched the boar. As the boar was defeated the villagers rushed to Steve as he could barely stand but with a big smile on his face. There is no doubt that Steve was the one who saved the village. At the same night the village celebrated their victory over the boar and Steve became the hero of the village. He was so happy and proud of himself. That's when he decided to leave the village and become an adventrurer just like his parents when he reached the age of adulthood.
