After seeing his uncle decapitated in a horrible accident, Verdi has an unusual fear of horses when sugar cubes are present. Otherwise he is a master of song and a lover of the finer things in life, especially the females.

As a young lad I chose to follow the traditions of the Cobalt Soul, under the tutelage of my uncle Ludwig. I have been taught extensively in lore from the monastery's collected volumes. The training has also given me proficiency in under common, and a proficiency in History.
 
I began my studies at the Valley archive of the Cobalt Soul in Zadash. Five years ago I had left Zadash with my uncle who was training me as a bard. He was a bard of some renown in our home city of Berleben. Ludwig died in a horrible accident involving a run-away horse and lute strings two years past.
 
Rather than returning to Zadash I spent much of my last two years performing and studying in the archives of Nicodranas and now continue seeking songs, stories, and knowledge in my travels to one day take back to the libraries of Zadash.
 
Most recently I left from Port Zoon in route to Port Demali expecting to meet a vendor, whom I had met in Nicodranas, and who I was to meet to purchase a very fine lute. The vendor told me he would not be in Port Demali but a few short days and if I missed my window of opportunity he would be moving on. I suspect I have lost my opportunity to meet with him thanks to the captain of the ship that I hopped aboard when I was assured we would be heading straight to Port Zoon. The trip has been a much longer trip than anticipated with no explanation from the captain except for quips such as "You'll get there, stop yer fretting!", etc.,
 
That did not work out so well for the captain.
