Legacy
 
"I made contact with Hoar after spending years living on the streets with my pet mouse named Lilith. I understood pain, suffering. I wanted vengeance, not just for my family but all the injustice in the streets caused by the worshipping of unforgiving Gods. After nearly starving to death, I made a pact with the God Hoar. I always had a coin, that I flipped to keep my own attention and focus. I flipped this coin, and begged for power, into a well. Nothing got back to me.
 
Sleeping rough one evening, someone approached me for the last of my food while my pet stayed behind me. I gave him my food but his reaction, was still to stab me. On my last legs, I blacked out on the floor, covered in blood. I seen a vision, of a coin flipping "If it lands on heads, I'll give you justice" - a deep voice said. "I'll give you what it takes to achieve this... If it lands on tails however... you'll bleed out, before the chance to avenge the wrongs you so wish to kill for."
 
It landed on heads.
 
The next, I woke up. With items wrapped with a note: "Burn them all, for vengeance".
 
Thane's time with the party, although brief, left a lasting impression about the patronage of Gods. Although not getting the opportunity to track his would-be killers down with the group he adventured with, he decided to go his own way and track them himself, the outcome of which is still unknown.
 
Time Step
 
With the happening of the Time Step, it's unclear where Thane finds himself these days, however with a bit of luck he survived the Slaad invasion of the future and remembers something of events that may now come to pass so as to hopefully track down those who unjustly killed him family and finally gain the vengeance he seeks.
