Reed Folk Champion Az'cotax is a tall, lean lizard creature who stands on two legs like other humanoids. His body is covered in scars and his claws are painted blood red. He has a noble bearing and looks very dangerous.

Az'Cotax is the son of the Reed Folk chief. He has won the right to be called 'Champion' through service to his people and combat with nearby enemy tribes. This lizard warrior has been taught to speak some common and while he knows little about the world outside of his tribe, he is probably the most knowledgeable of all his people.
 
This noble warrior is proud that his tribe has advanced beyond the primitive ways of other lizard folk. They live in peace when possible, have given up the ancient tradition of eating the flesh of their enemies and have even started to learn artistry, writing and tradecraft.
 
 
Recent attacks by human villagers from the north have his people concerned. Recent encounters with mutilated and crazed humans have resulted in the death of several Reed Folk fisherman so Az'Cotax has been leading small groups of warriors to patrol the area and kill any humans they encounter.

Az'cotax is a personal friend of Grush, a half orc who has a long history in the region. Many years ago, Grush gave him an enchanted broadsword named Ja'co'inth which translates to 'Serpentmater'. The sword was created by Lotherym hundreds of years ago and give to one of his henchmen. The weapon was used to kill many lizardfolk and is greatly feared by the Reed Folk and other lizardfolk tribes in the region. Grush killed Lotherym's follower and took the weapon to give to his friend.
