Appearance
Physical Description
Wulfric has the size and strength of someone who has spent a significant amount of time in armor, wielding a weapon and shield. Wolf is broad and dense, accustomed to withstanding heavy blows.
Facial Features
Wulfric has the grey-blue eyes that are the namesake of the Greythorn line. A past ancestor who settled in the region of present-day Ernacht was said to have eyes like 'grey thorns' and the name stuck.
Wulfric's eyes are often hooded, with a distant expression on them until battle.
Identifying Characteristics
Wulfric keeps a short-to-medium length beard that contrasts with the mane of wavy black hair that falls to his shoulders when let down.
Physical quirks
Wulfric cannot be bothered to cut or do any maintenance on his hair other than routine maintenance. This contrasts with the enjoyment he takes in bathing and having his hair maintained for him.
Apparel & Accessories
Wulfric wears a worn set of chain mail and a dented wrought-iron shield with large rivets. For weaponry, he carries well-used morningstar and what he refers to as the Boastful Blade-- a magical longsword whose cooperation must be agreed upon each day.
Mentality
Personal history
Wulfric was born under auspicious circumstances to the Lord and Lady Greythorn, with his mother passing during childbirth. He had a happy but distant childhood as his station kept him more isolated from the other boys and girls his age. The widower Greythorn was a polite and responsible man but his duties often kept him busy.
During his tenth year, his family's lands were shocked to learn that Lord Greythorn had another child. The eight-year-old Catrin, born to a distant lady-in-waiting, was officially recognized and joined Wulfric and his father at the Aldsfoort.
In Catrin, Wulfric found the companion that he had always yearned for. The two grew to be incredibly close through their teenage years, training and learning what it meant to lead. To Wulfric, they were the best of friends and the most loyal of siblings.
For reasons Wulfric cannot, or will not, understand, Catrin enlisted the help of a barbarian tribe known as the Antler Men to usurp their family's lands and kill their father. Catrin skillfully framed Wulfric for the act of patricide and seized control of the fief while Wulfric was forced to flee.
Now going by the mercenary moniker of "Wolf", the exiled heir swore an oath of vengeance against his sister and the Antler Men while searching for answers about why this tragedy unfolded.
Education
Wulfric has an education that befits the heir of a minor house but has difficulty retaining facts and figures. He is a practical learner and as such excels in martial training.
Employment
Wulfric considers himself to still be employed as the bodyguard of the kobold Artificer, Sprocket, as well as a full-time adventurer with the Shipwreckers.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Along with the Shipwreckers, Wulfric liberated his home from a Djinn's spell in addition to eliminating the Antler Men employed by his half-sister.
Eliminated two of the infamous swamp hags in the Dead Bog and helped the Shipwreckers lift the curse on Ash Evenhell.
Failures & Embarrassments
Wulfric was gifted a ship by a Djinn, which was then promptly destroyed through unknown magical means.
Wulfric managed to get the party lost while traveling to the capital and needed the assistance of Dwink Beckson to navigate at night.
Wulfric was unwilling to kill Catrin Greythorn while she was under the Djinn's spell.
The Shipwreckers were unable to recognize the plot against the king and could not save him from assassination.
Mental Trauma
Wulfric struggles to connect with others, either being too quiet or too boisterous at inopportune times. The betrayal of his half-sister has impacted Wulfric deeply, making him wary of the female members of the Shipwreckers.
Wulfric is aware of how Catrin's actions have impacted his ability to relate with others, which only increases his frustration.
Morality & Philosophy
Wulfric holds the same moral standards as most citizens but has no qualms with taking decisive, often disproportionate, action to solve an issue. Whereas Catrin and the Greythorn family line is strongly deterministic, Wulfric believes in free will and quietly delights in randomness.
person.sexuality
Wulfric is a heterosexual male with a preference towards capable women, magically, martially, or professionally. Wulfric is not exceptionally modest and is indifferent to the propriety of others.
He is indifferent to the sexuality or preferences of others, considering it not to be his business.
Taboos
Wulfric is not bothered by inflicting punishment on others, provided he has determined that the offending party deserves it. What actions meet this requirement are entirely situational and often hypocritical.
Wulfric's attachment to his half-sister while acknowledging her actions is frequently conflicting, intense, and dangerous.
Known Languages
Wulfric speaks Common, Elvish, Infernal, and Abyssal due to the dark nature of his Oath.
Personality
Motivation
Wulfric is motivated by what will make him stronger and move him closer to his goals of liberation and vengeance. As the Shipwreckers have already helped him towards his goals, he feels obligated to aid them in theirs and proud to do so.
