Physical Description

Slight and willowy for an Aarakocra, very aerodynamic and agile in the air. Able to make sharp turns and impressive aerial acrobatic maneuvers.

Body Features

Features/Coloring resemble the “North Amaerican Kestrel” with a dark blue, copper, and cream toned feathering, and black and white patterns on her underwings.

Facial Features

Dark brown, nearly black eyes. Black Stripes under the eyes, with a beak tipped with an oxidized teal.

Identifying Characteristics

Hooked beak, black spots under eyes, copper tones to feathers that is unusual in feathers.

Physical quirks

One wing has the alternating under pattern, making it appear darker and giving her an iconic lopsided appearance when flying.

Personal history

Aariee Copperwing is the only child of Gaiaa & Shaaki Copperwing. She grew up beloved and guarded by her parents, tending to sheep on her mother’s farm, and learning to knit and craft beautiful enchanted fabrics from her father. An idyllic childhood for the kid of refugees - who fled to Dragon’s Gate to keep themselves safe from a danger they kept from her for so long.
 
Aariee grew up knowing very few other Aarakocra. Since there weren’t many in the city. But she did have one friend. Gaavii, a red colored Aarakocra, with whom Aariee explored and discovered the world with. He was adventurous and excited about nature like her. Their bond was instant!
 
It was the most informative and traumatic thing Aariee had ever witnessed - the day Gaavii was cursed. She had snuck out to meet him in their usual place, only to find him in an argument/altercation with a hooded stranger. The stranger unleashed a curse on Gaavii much to her horror and turned him into a massive oak tree with red leaves year-round.
She tried to race after the culprit, but never got a better look at the caster who took Gaavii away from her.
 
From that time on Aariee devoted herself to protecting Gaavii’s tree. Collecting debris and the fallen acorns. Never wanting any of Gaavii to go missing lest she be unable to someday revolver him to his rightful form.
 
It was her passion for protecting Gaavii that kept her from making new friends for a long time.
 
Till one day she attended a festival and met a human boy named Charlie, who was doing magic. But as much as Magic had grown in her mind to be something awful, this magic was beautiful and working in tandem with nature. Intrigued she followed him and found herself an apprentice to a Druid woman named Hannah who also was teaching Charlie.
 
A short time later she and Charlie along with all the kids in Dragons Gate were captured and stolen away underground. With the help of a few other kids, Aariee managed to help free the kids who had been captured.
 
These other kids were her newest comrades and friends… A slow process for learning to trust them and let them become people she cared for deeply. But in the end she accepted these new friends and her place as their defender and protector.
 
In the 10 years that followed Aariee continued her studies with Hannah and the druids. Learning to become attuned to nature and the animals and creatures therein.
 
Her parents reluctantly at first, but realizing Aariee had a certain knack for this adventuring business finally relented and in turn supported her endeavors to help her friends, and the city.

Education

Learned magic from the Druid Hannah. Continues to study with her and Charlie to hone her magic.
 
Trained with the Ranger Ivan Rosenbloom and Arkensav in the woods, honing her skills in survival and growing ever closer to nature.
 
Learned about plants and medicines, becoming proficient with herbal remedies and plant identification.

Works occasional jobs for the Gatekeeper of Dargon’s Gate.
 
Also works for her father making fabrics and garments, as well as being the primarily delivery person for the goods he sells.
