Obaya, a priestess of Waukeen, has travelled from Chult to sponsor expeditions into Undermountain, with the goal of bringing its magical treasures back to her employer, the merchant prince Wakanga O'tamu of Port Nyanzaru. She discourages inexperienced adventurers from exploring Undermountain but is happy to help them with her magic until they gain enough experience to be useful to her.
 
She offers a unique service in Waterdeep in that she'll offer to buy spellbooks of wizards, no questions asked. She gives a set price according to the highest level spell in the spellbook.
