Physical Description

A lightweight wrestler, by dwarven standards. Thick forearms, well-muscled shoulders, and a toned stomach. His legs are lithe, their flexibility and mobility enabling his absolute stability in a fight.

Body Features

Oelun stands a little short, especially for a dwarf of human ancestry. Perhaps his difficult birth has a hand in it, but his legs don't quite straighten fully; like the lifetime horseman his great-grandfather was, he stands bow-legged - always prepared.

Facial Features

His topknot remains black, but his beard and moustache have turned abnormally grey, adding centuries to his appearance. His eyes are clear, always searching for the next opponent, never resting on one foe for too long.

Identifying Characteristics

Oelun has many identifying scars he leaves open to the air; a jagged cut down the left arm marking a fall during his balance trials, a burn mark on his back below the right shoulder-blade where he didn't quite move fast enough to avoid a thrust torch, and a chest scar marking a spear-thrust taken during his final defence trial, tattoed over with a broken anvil, symbol of clan Ganbold.

Physical quirks

A tattoo marks each life Oelun feels he could have saved, and failed to do so. The anvil on his chest marks the life of his father, whom he could have loved, supported, and worked to help. His back has two, one a monk graduation torc for the life of a student of the monastery lost while he spent the day in the arms of his love, and the other a four-fingered hand, for the life of a peasant farmer girl lost to infection under his care, while he lacked the medical skill to save her. He bears one more on his left ankle, a cartwheel with broken spokes, for a travelling merchant lost to banditry under his protection.

Oelun carries the torcs of his most prized victories on his belt and forearms, each simple metal disc a marker of a treasured achievement. Each one of these badges has a tale to it.

Equilibrar Se was his home for decades, but he was banished after a tryst with a fellow monk. He took the fall, and his lover remained at the monastery while he took up the mantle of a wandering disciple, earning the moniker 'the Grey Wanderer' for his hair.

Wealth & Financial state

His mother, Erdene, still lives, and the two get along well. He visits her when he can, and she gets by, caring for orphans in their small village near Nanris.

Religious Views

While heavily influenced by the teachings of Kuenzana, both through the devout among the monks of Equilibrar Se and his parents, it was a friend of his, whom he travelled with extensively before his peaceful passing a year hence, that introduced him to his true faith - Kuvhurika, the Lady of Death. Oelun strives to avoid killing wherever possible, and when it is necessary, to do so mercifully and swiftly. Respect for the dead is vital to his core, as he remembers the fates of those he loves lost without bodies to revere and sustain their memories - in the minds of those around him, they slip away. His deepest desire is to look upon her and return to the world of the living. In the meantime, living life to its fullest extent is his foremost goal - and aiding others to do the same, unburdened by worries and cares that would drag them down.
