Personal history
Iaidar was born to father Farlen Taelisan and mother Ularon Isridel in the city of Panoraia in Diskar. Farlen was a judge in Panoraia's grand court, and Ularon died during labor.
Iaidar grew up learning the ways of debating from his father- he became argumentative, yet critical and sharp-witted. These traits made him unpopular with the other children, but very popular with the intellectuals and adults. He spent a lot of time hanging around in the court or the library and loved to read and talk about politics and history.
At around 85, he became a political speaker, the Panoraia government making a special exception for the 100 age limit for political jobs. He was both hated and revered for his brutally honest and often very progressive ideas, which he would always announce no matter where he was. He also started to study magic so he could become a more powerful individual.
As he began to campaign against the mistreatment of slaves, he began to become enraged by the cruelty of rival and slaver Elkas Saelis. In the dark of the night, he stalked Elkas into a back alley, before slashing Elkas' wrists. Iaidar taunted and mocked him, circling Elkas as he wept and bled. Elkas died, and Iaidar dumped his body in the sewers.
Though Iaidar was suspected, Iaidar eventually was deemed innocent in the case. The murder was left unsolved. But 9 years later, Iaidar's guilt was tearing him apart, and he finally plead guilty to murder. He chose to be exiled from the elven community of Diskar, and soon moved to Kotoxi Mari after travelling parts of Eastern Valdur and Southern Taurin.
In Kotoxi Mari, Iaidar joined the Ravencrest. Despite his low rank, he would always air his ideas to the upper ranks. Some of them hated him for speaking out of line, though others admired his ambition and ruthlessness. In a controversial voted decision, he was made a Chancellor of Ravencrest.
As the years went on, other Chancellors grew weary of his relentless pursuit of progressive ideals and voted almost unanimously to out him from the council. He was given a run-down mansion in the ruins of Prodigy City with a million gold pieces to restore it, as well as two hundred slaves.
Iaidar was at first devastated but quickly recovered, turning the run-down area he was given into a beautiful estate of his own. He let a hundred of his slaves go, giving them money to live off of and connecting them with job opportunities as he could. He treated those he kept almost as equals, and they dined with him. He was even known to work alongside them.
