Scientist turned park ranger. Charming, calm, and collected. Very close with the Joyce brothers, especially Will
The physicist who turned away from science. A Bright Falls native, Elton studied physics in Riverport, MA as a graduate student and helped create the theory of the chronon field that now bears his name. He was the only one Will Joyce would open up to, and Elton found himself always amazed at the way Will thought.
When the chronon theory was published, Elton and Will found themselves thrust into the spotlight as minor celebrities. Elton did not take it well; the stress and attention extremely heightened his preexisting fear of failure. But he didn't have to withstand it for long. In 1999, Elton's uncle, his only living relative, drowned in Cauldron Lake. Elton returned to Bright Falls to deal with it, and he ended up never leaving. He became a National Parks ranger, and he helped keep the Elderwood Park with Rusty. When Rusty disappeared, Elton found himself suddenly promoted.
