Old Friend,
If you are reading this message, then I have just ended my life. As I write these words by failing candlelight, grasping for the vestiges of my mind... memories... my very self; I think back to the times that we shared - both grande and dire. Now, as the hours of my life slip away, I wish that we were once again charging across the Vilkrand Expanse, storming the walls of Dur Gholdurim, plying the trades of the crimson women of Sangladoresh. The years spent as your commander were among the best that I can yet remember and I grieve that I will not lay eyes upon the rough men and women of Pariah just once more in this life.
The sickness is taking me now, more and more I lose what little is left the man I was... am... wish to be remembered as. The hunger twists inside like an open wound, rending apart my will and my strength. My studies have been as little use as the divine gifts of Oros in my effort to cure this ravenous plague. So I will end it while I can still wrest control of my faculties from whatever darkness now consumes me.
Do not weep for me, my old friend. I have done terrible... unspeakable things. And I die now by my own blade - it is a better death than to die old and sick in bed. An orcish death. I only pray that the deities above have mercy on my immortal soul and see it fit to welcome into their heavenly abode forevermore. I beg of you - do not bring me back for I fear what might come with me.
If ever you had love for me as your commander... as a brother-in-arms who bled alongside you... then come to Castille d'Dukrull. See that I am laid to rest permanently and properly. And speak with me one last time, that I might tell you what led to this most unfortunate fate.
The... the item... it must be retrieved... protected... I don't know... destroyed... I fear that this missive might fall under prying eyes, such that I dare not hint further at the source of my demise. Please, come and see me put to as good an end as I can manage now in my twilight and ensure that my family is well looked after now that I have passed.

An orc of notable intelligence who awoke to the Echo in the Clannarch and made his way east. He joined the priesthood of Oros and was eventually trained as an apothecary by the Circle of 12 Seals. He served with the mercenary guild Pariah and eventually became the commander of 'Sacred Company'.
He died in 3319 AS via apparent suicide - a sword plunged directly into his heart. His death (and the suicide letter that he sent out) served as the catalyst that began bringing the members of 'Sacred Company' back together.
