Wrapped in an armor of etiquette and charm, Alyrra's eyes are direct and engaging, as she strives to be the very paragon of Luneste nobility.
The Good Daughter. Diligent, Charming, Cunning. Alyrra Luneste is the legitimate daughter of Labert Luneste, and as such is in Luneste's line of succession to become Duchess of the Isles, though an unlikely candidate. She is a flower, seen through glass - beautiful and untouchable.

Appearance
Physical quirks
Alyrra's appearance is striking, dark hair and pale skin, and her eyes are light and captivating.
Alyrra was born with one blue eye and one green - a sign of good fortune among the Dunefalli, as it is said that those with "The Dreamer's Eyes" can see both the waking world and The Great Dream, and how the two intersect.
Mentality
Personal history
Arnaud and Ragonde are her aunt and uncle, she was practically raised by Carais, her mother was a noble in House Aiseleur (Arabella Aiseleur) - a political arrangement and a major coup for Carais to secure for Labert, who had a bastard and a mystery partner. He did his duty, and had Alyrra, but it was a loveless thing, as Labert’s attention was always elsewhere. After failing to get a pregnancy to stick to secure a male heir, Labert turned his attention to Banteave, using Arnaud’s death as a justification (excuse) to leave Dunefalle with Rami, leaving Alyrra and her mother behind. Years of being resented and unloved took a toll on Arabella, who gave herself to The Dream when Alyrra was 11 or 12.
Within five years, Carais made arrangements for Alyrra to be brought to Banteave, where she has reunited with her father and acts diligently to earn affection that has been denied her for most of her life - Labert because he was always looking to the horizon. And Arabella because her life was a tragic descent into neglect and depression.
Alyrra is an unlikely candidate for both, but she is in the direct line of succession for House Luneste and, more distantly, and only plausible in the case of great tragedy, Dunefalle itself
Mental Trauma
Midsummer Festival was always Alyrra’s favorite. It wasn’t because of the presents, or the celebrations, or even the fact that Labert liked to bring Rami, and Alyrra liked Rami. He was closer to her age than anyone else in the castle, and he liked to play games with her. No, Alyrra’s favorite part was that she got to see both of her parents. Labert would come home with some toy and stories of everything he had been off doing and seeing, and everyone would smile and laugh and eat, and Alyrra would sit in Gramma Carais’s lap, and and Gramma wouldn’t even make her eat the yucky foods.
But this year, something felt different. Her mother hadn’t gotten the staff to decorate like they usually did. Mother had been spending more and more time in her room with the door closed, and Alyrra didn’t understand. She wondered if Mother was sick, but Gramma said that Arabella was fine. Alyrra didn’t like going into Mother’s room, though, because it always smelled funny, and made her head spin.
Mother had been sleeping a lot more, and it seemed like she was forgetting things. Maybe Mother had forgotten that It was Midsummer! She knocked lightly on Mother’s door, and then pushed it open slightly, hesitantly.
“Mother?” she whispered. The room was smelly, and it stung her eyes. She blinked, and felt a tear well up, but she swallowed it down. “Mother?” She called again, a little bit louder. Why was the room so dark? She heard a stirring from the bed, and walked over.
“Mother, it’s almost Midsummer…” But when the person in the bed rolled over, it wasn’t Arabella, but instead her personal guard, Louvelle. He was asleep, and that made sense, being a personal guard was a lot of work, and Arabella had made it clear to Alyrra that she wasn’t supposed to bother him. Still, she was relatively sure that Louvelle was supposed to be with Mother, and if Mother wasn’t here, wouldn’t Louvelle want to know? She began to reach up to grab his arm, when she heard a scuff on the floor behind her.
“What the f-“ a pause. “What are you doing in here? Did Gramma forget to feed you?” Alyrra’s face lit up, as she heard her mother’s voice.
“No!” She laughed - Mother could be so silly. And when Alyrra turned to look at Arabella, she saw that her mother was still dressed for sleeping. “It’s almost Midsummer, and the staff haven’t decorated!”
The emotions that flashed across Arabella’s face were too fleeting and nuanced for Alyrra to fully grasp, and as she pondered, she heard Louvelle sit up in the bed behind her.
“Come back to…” she heard Louvelle say, and she recognized the anger that knit Mother’s eyebrows closer together for a second. Louvelle did as well, and whatever words he had intended to say died suddenly in his throat.
“Midsummer!?” Arabella laughed. Usually Alyrra loved the music of Mother’s laugh, but today it felt less joyful, almost angry. Could you laugh if you were angry? That didn’t make sense. “Fu-…. Midsummer is canc-“
“Alyrra!” Came Gramma Carais’s voice from the doorway. “There you are! Come, child, your mother is very busy, and Louvelle was just taking a nap in here before he sets sail for Banteave tomorrow, and he will have to wake up so very early…”. Somehow Alyrra sensed surprise from Mother and Louvelle. Surely they knew that Louvelle had a trip, right?
“Now come, child, we must begin making preparations! Your father and brother should arrive within the week, and I don’t see any Midsummer decorations! Let’s go ask Suzette to bring them down from the tower, and while she’s doing that, we can take the offerings to Grandpa’s Rest.” Gramma paused, and looked to Mother with a sternness that spoke volumes. “Arabella was just getting dressed so she can help Suzette...”

Religious Views
As a member of House Luneste, and an ideal of what that should entail, Alyrra Luneste is a diligent student of Resshe's teachings, though she does not participate in many of the rituals.
In truth, Alyrra sees it all as spectacle, and worse yet, dangerous. While she does not doubt the power of Resshe or other outsiders, she does not adhere to them in a religious sense. Resshe has never benefitted her in any particular way, and with the death of her uncle costing her time with her father, she harbors a deep resentment towards Resshe - a resentment that does not prevent her from attending Dreamings, or speaking ritualistic words. While she is willing to enter The Dreaming, she only does so when it is required of her.
She also harbors a deep trauma from her childhood, as she watched her mother develop a crippling addiction to Dreamsmoke Herbs, before ultimately, and idiomatically " Giving herself to The Dream" when Alyrra was just a child.
