Axelle Montenac (nèe Croigner) was born in 1240 ME to Colyn and Iohane Croigner. She has an older sister; Adhelina, and two younger siblings; Esobel and Aylard. She had a nice and happy childhood. She is said to be the most beautiful woman in the city of Srenn.
 
In 1259 ME both her parents died in the big bandit attack on Srenn, leaving her brother Aylard as the leader of House Croigner. After the attack she was devastated and wouldn't go out of their family estate for weeks. 
 
Things looked brighter for her when she and Aubren Montenac decided to get married later the same year. Her firstborn son, Rogerus, was born shortly after the couple got married. Three years later they had a daughter together, Yvette.
