Backstory of Henri

Almost from birth Henri would be raised on a golden platter: having been highly educated by the most renowned university professors of his day, having been fully embellished to the extravagant lifestyles of the aristocracy, and be extensively taught in the equestrian arts. He would be taught to ride with a horse extensively while equipped with breastplate armor, a cavalry sabre, and a pistol. From his late teens until his mid twenties, Henri would be renowned as a pompous douchebag playboy who would be an asshole to his friends and frequently cheated on his girlfriends, nonetheless, was charismatic enough to lure any unsuspecting person to see his side of the story. This was his public life, in his private life, Henri would have an unusually close relationship with his horse who he named Champion. Henri would seemingly have lengthy “conversations” with Champion about the thoughts and feelings that would destroy his public image if heard by anyone else. It was clear that being the pompous douchebag playboy was tearing apart Henri’s mental health but his friends selected him by high society would forge this mask that Henri would have to wear unless he seeks to be exiled from his life of wealth and comfort. His father Louis, a middle-aged veteran of the Rebellion and an avid hunter. It would be tradition for Louis and Henri to go out on hunting expeditions that would last from weeks to months. Louis was a staunchly stubborn individual who held very high expectations for Henri. Louis’s highly disciplined persona would naturally clash with Henri’s rebellious debaucherous persona. The hunting expeditions between Louis and Henri would be the only times when both of them would let go of their grievances and be father and son… but that would change.
 
Louis, suspicious of how long Henri tends to loiter at the stables, would spy on Henri late at night. In one of the “conversations” that Louis would overhear Henri have with Champion, Henri reveals that he holds romantic feelings for one of his male friends and that he is conflicted if he should reveal his true feelings or not. Eavesdropping on the fact that Henri is a closested homosexual, Louis would be furious but decided that this would be the lost time that Henri would ever disrespect his family. Weeks later during a hunting expedition in the Fey, with no witnesses, Louis would shoot Henri in the back with a flintlock pistol. This shot would seemingly kill Henri and Louis would run away to leave him to death. At home, Louis would say that the both of them were attacked by wolves and that he lost Henri during the attack. Unknowingly to Louis, Henri would actually survive the gunshot and be nurtured back to health by magical fey spirits. For a decade, Henri would be mentored by the magical fey spirits to let go of his lust for the material and become one with nature, becoming a druid. During this time, he would live in the World Tree, where he would discover the Chaos Entity threatening to raze all of life. This discovery would lead him to let go of his regrets and lust for vengence against his father, instead seeking his inner peace in order to find it in his heart to forgive him. Once he discovers his inner peace, he would return home to the shock of his family. Instead of seeking vengeance on his petrified father, Henri would forgive him for murdering him. Henri would declare that he is no longer of the noble lifestyle and would renounce his ties to his family, instead dedicating a new life of freedom and peace with nature. Henri would reunite with Champion and ride off into the sunset.
