15. If tomorrow comes without me…

My dearest friends,
I believe that the time has come for me to start a journey of my own. As much as I regret leaving you behind, I know that our paths will cross again. And when they do, I will make sure to prepare a feast for you. Even if I am gone, I wish you wouldn’t cry, for you have offered me the best adventures I could have had.
I will miss you and my father dearly. Please do let him know that I will be going to a faraway land and I will not be able to write him for a while. And if you ever pass through the elvish land again, pay him a visit. Although he doesn’t show it, I know he feels lonely sometimes.
Oh, and one more thing. I may not be with you, but I will hear the news about what you do. So do not dare act like stupid fools, or, make no mistake, I will find a way to shoot an arrow at you. There will be many challenges that come in your way, so stay together and fight. If not because you feel so, then because I SAID SO IN THIS LETTER.

I may have not been the richest, but I had you in my life. And that made it better than any diamond could have. As much as I hated you in the beginning, I love you now. And that will never change. Although, I must confess I was a bit jealous that you dress up nicer than I do.
I know that sometimes, you do not trust yourself, but I had faith in you. And for good reason. I stood by your side and seen you grown. And from Reisar’s little toy, you have come to defy the simple existence of a necromancer. You accepted something so dangerously evil and used it to protect your friends, even at the cost of your own life. And for that, I think you are not only brave but also kind. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise!
Of course, walking alone in a city when you’re blind, is a stupid mistake…but in the end, who is not stupid at least once in their life? I think you remember the dragon….
Do not forget you are like a firefly. When the light is covered by dark, you guide the way.
I do not have much to leave behind, but I will leave you my quill, and by that, it becomes your responsibility to write about your adventures. And yes, I know you are blind, but I am certain you will find a way to deal with that.

Somehow, you managed to survive more than I did. That is indeed surprising! But I am proud of you. I know that I always make fun of you, but honestly, I am happy to be your friend. Don’t get too used to this, not all elves are as nice as me.
Just take care and remember that not all magic artifacts are good. I know that being away from home is not easy, and I admire you for the courage of trying to understand the world from different perspectives. It is something quite smart in my opinion. Not many have the power to keep their beliefs even when there is easier paths to take.
I am sorry for every time I have been mean or made jokes about you. And as an apology, please accept my collection of books. I don’t know of how much use they will be to you, but if anything, you can read them at parties. They will keep you entertained.
Don’t let anyone get on your nerves. You managed to stay calm when I did that, so prove me you learned something, and that what people say don’t bother you. Do listen to their advice from time to time.

I know you two do not talk much, but when you do, you always turn the situation around somehow. I am always very amused and amazed by you. Honestly, I know we did not do much together but training with you was really fun.
I will forever admire you for the power to understand beyond what’s obvious. And just so you know, even though Evhai is not here, I know that your bond is unbreakable. And I wish that the next time I see you two, it will remain the same.
Also, I know you like a lot of things, but debts are of no good. You know, I am pretty sure that if you, Mazog, work with Damaschini, you can create better things that you can buy anywhere. So just to make sure that you will be safe, I will leave you all the gold I own. It may not be much, so use them wisely.

There was a time, a long time ago, that I admired you for the power you had. The strong bright leader Damaschini. But I have understood that behind all this appearance, there is a lot more than an outsider can see. There is a lot of love and consideration and a warmth that can melt any metal. I guess that is how you manage to create all the super special objects. Of course, your skills also help.
It has been my honor to be your friend and comrade. I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me, and for the others. Hehe, I still owe you something for the bow you made. It is not much, but I hope the knife I leave you, will help in some way.
Selenis melted a part of his sword and gave it to me so I can save lives. And now I am giving it to you, to do the same. So, melt it and transform it in something beautiful, like you always do.
Also, I hope you enjoyed the “acting show” in Alomir but please don’t ever let Miyun go close to that place again. I don’t think you’d want to see her on the stage too. And take good care of her because she is your only daughter for now.

There is nothing much I can leave you, but this necklace I got from the Trickster. I know you must not like him, but I believe he was a good person, otherwise your father wouldn’t have trusted him.
I hope it will make you understand, that being different is not bad. Marcon, the Trickster and even Damaschini are different, and yet that makes them who they are.
Hehe… I really am overprotective. You should have fun and live this life how you want. I will be watching and be proud of you. And if you ever miss me, just build a doll that looks like me and carry it around. Just make it funny.

HEHEHE…I am pretty sure you and I are going to meet more often that I can anticipate. I may be a shadow in the death level, but I will always enjoy a great conversation with you. If anything, you know where to find me. I am relying on you to keep me updated.
And just for your information, not for one second, I believed in the bullshit with “professional relationship”. You were as much part of my family as were the others. And like it or not I will miss you too dearly.
We might not always agree with each other, but in the end none of us knew the truth about the world. Maybe, just maybe, I found it out. Guess it is up to you to find out what I know now.
