We're not in Azeroth anymore. Clorix, after having been jolted through some kind of portal created by a mysterious device, finds himself in a whole new world to explore.

Known to be a very powerful mage in a land called Azeroth, Clorix is mostly like any other gnome known in his home world: pale white skin, pronounced features, quite a large nose, and disproportionately large ears. His one unique characteristic is his pink Elvis hair, which he wears proudly.
 
Clorix came from Dun Morogh and ventured forth, coming into his own long after he first began. He is known to love adventuring in and exploring new places. He is also a very curious creature. Sometimes he will do things just to see what’ll happen, mostly ending up worse off than he’d have been had he just listened to his gut. But it doesn’t faze him. He learns quickly from his mistakes and failures (unless the mistake was a fun one!), but can sometimes just as quickly forget what he learned about the same blunders. Not only can his spontaneity get him in trouble, but it can often times end up leading to some of his best and most memorable adventures.
 
After a day of tinkering and mage-ing, Clorix came home to discover a very interesting magical device sitting on a table in his residence located in the Mage District (where else?) in Stormwind. His curiosity took over and he began investigating the device. He soon found a mechanism he recognized from somewhere, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. He hypothesized that perhaps this mechanism required a bit of magic from himself to make it work.
 
After contemplating (for a whole two seconds) whether using magic on this device was a good idea, his inquisitiveness took over and he began casting an arcane spell on the device. It began to shudder and bounce about, seemingly alive with energy. It expanded outwards, completely engulfing Clorix and just about everything in his immediate vicinity. It shrank and disappeared almost as quickly as it grew.
 
Clorix couldn’t help but think to himself, “We’re not in Azeroth anymore.” He couldn’t have been more accurate.
 
As he came to, he found himself looking at a strange, but at the same time familiar, new land. This was most definitely not Azeroth anymore. Everything seemed different somehow: the air, the smells, the ambiance. He tried to cast a spell to teleport himself back to his homeland, but to no avail. He was flabbergasted. He tried casting other spells, but couldn’t work out how to make them work. The feeling of the magic rushing through him was definitely familiar to him, and it was as if he knew HOW to cast his spells, but he didn’t know WHY he couldn’t. He didn’t know what to think.
 
From a distance, he could see several humanoid creatures looking at him with about as much wonder and awe as Clorix himself was experiencing.
 
What happened to him? Where was he? What is he doing there? What’s in store for him? Who will help him adventure in and explore this vast, new, mysterious, wondrous and interesting place? And will he ever be able to return to Azeroth?
