Illia has unnaturally tanned skin, almost ashy in appearance. Strange blue lines emanating from her eyes run down her face, faintly pulsating with radiant energy

Special abilities

When Ilia is faced with an overwhelming force of evil, or her allies are in great peril, her divine blood begins to boil as a burning radiant light shines from her skin and orifices. Creatures in close contact to Ilia during this time are burned by the radiant light. Overuse of this ability is dangerous, as Ilia is quite literally burning from the inside out when it is active.

Ilia awoke, the words of her dream still echoing in her mind. Ilia pondered the words, as she always has. For as long as Ilia could remember, she has had dreams of a beautiful figure, basked in golden light. The figure talked to her, the way a parent would talk to their child, guiding her on her path. Ilia isn’t sure what awaits her, but her unwavering trust in the figure drives her forward.
 
Ilia’s blood boiled as she neared the graveyard, a feeling she had felt time and time again.Her uncontrollable hatred of all things evil threatening to consume her. She had heard rumors of a necromancer prowling about the parts. As she passed a row of dirt plagued grey tombstones, a skeletal hand reached out from underground, its bony figures cutting into Ilia’s ankle. Channeling innate arcane power, Ilia blasted the skeletal hand clean off with a bolt of fire, backing up as she did so. The skeleton emerged from the dirt, to her right, two more emerged, violently upturning the dirt. Ilia conjured a spiritual mace, and struck at the skeletons, crushing one of their skulls into dust. And then another, and another. But for each skeleton she dispatched, two more took its place, rising from the ground in a howling cacophony of bones. Ilia was surrounded. Her blood boiled even more as she stared down the shambling horde, inching closer. That feeling of hatred became unbearable, overflowing. Ilia tore off her mask and unleashed the power hidden inside her, flooding the night with searing golden light. The light enveloped the skeletons, scorching them with a blaze of radiant energy. They fell, one by one, all that was left was ashes. Ilia fell to her knees, drained of her stamina. She was reminded of the time she first discovered this power.
 
“Have a good day at school, dear!” Ilia reminisced about that fateful day. She was only ten years old. Most of her life was relatively normal upto this point, living in the quiet village of Riverbrook. Her father was a fisherman, her mother a seamstress. All seemed normal on this fateful day as Ilia walked to school, lost in flights of fancy as she did so. Ilia arrived, and settled down in the classroom, and endured another long, boring day of school. As she was exiting the school, a rather mischievous boy snatched her notebook from her arms, exclaiming “Catch me if ya can!” before running away. “Give that back!” Ilia yelled as she was in pursuit. As she neared the boy, he threw it in the hair to the waiting hands of another boy. “What’s wrong? Can’t catch us?” the boys continued this charade of getting Ilia to come close before tossing the book to another waiting hand. Ilia began to feel her blood boil, a feeling deep inside compelling her to vanquish the evil in front of her. She grew hotter and hotter, she felt a pressure in her chest slowly rising. And then it burst. Her skin grew darker, pale blue markings appeared across her body, as radiant light began to spill out of her. Ilia marched towards the boys, whose sneering grins had turned into a terrified grimace. They cried out in pain as Ilia drew nearer, inch by inch she approached, compelled by forces she couldn’t explain. And then everything went black. When she awoke she was lying in her bed, her mother looking over her, but even she held a poorly masked expression of fear. For the remaining days she spent in Riverbrook, people stayed clear of her with a wide berth, fearful of what they couldn’t understand. That’s when the dreams started.
 
“Do not be fearful of the unknown child, thy man of white scales will guide thou, go with him, it is fate.”
Ilia woke from the dream. This was her final day with her parents. After the incident, Ilia’s father had contacted a cleric, hoping they would be able to take her in, and teach her how to harness her power. “Papa and mama will always love you, Ilia, do not be a big fish in a small pond. You have the power to do great acts of good. The clerics of Tyr will teach you how to harness your power.”
 
And so, Ilia spent many years with the clerics of Tyr, harnessing both arcane and divine magic. Under the careful tutelage of Bjorn Rockheart, a cleric Ilia had grown fond of, she learned to keep her desire to stamp out all evil partially under control. Bjorn was a sturdy and muscular dwarf, with amber eyes and a long braided ornate beard. She thought of Bjorn as a second father. When she reached the age of twenty, Ilia left the Temple of Tyr, eager to seek out and destroy evil on her terms, and to provide aid to the faithful of Tyr.
