Hallerbos isn't an ancestry line but in a way it is a family name. The villagers and forest dwellers who make up the tight-knit community inhabiting the Hallerbos Forest all carry the name with pride. Watching over them are the three Guardian Druids of Hallerbos: Josh, John and Jannet Hallerbos.
 
However, no guardian can stop the calamity that befell the Hallerbic people. The great fire engulfed every inch of the forest and Josh Hallerbos could only watch as all that he knew perished.
 
What little was left of the Hallerbos family scattered searching for a new livelihood. Josh found himself treating illnesses at the Northlands. In this big new world he learned that his druidic arts were mere cantrips, and the beasts he fought mere pests.
 
Now terrible things has befallen the world and Josh finds himself not as a protector, but as the protected. But even in the face of eldritch horrors Josh is haunted only by one demon. The divination which does not change no matter how many times he scry. The fire was started by a Hallerbos.
