A Loss
Pelor be damned, I was wrong. These things are no dragon, but they were more than a match for us. Elizette fell quickly scouting and was maimed beyond saving. We were able to slay the thing by keeping our distance, but it looked to pack a considerable wallop. No time to mourn our loss, we continued on to make sure there was no more danger and Epyon managed to get snuck up upon and downed in a single blow. I interposed myself between him and this ooze as Milo drug him to safety. We finally were able to drag him out of the temple, and while initial prognosis did not appear good, we began to have labored breathing and I was able to apply a salve to aid his injuries.
Two of our members had stayed with the dwarves to ensure their safety, though I can't help but wonder if it is cowardice on their part. Regardless, Milo, Myself, Epyon, and Zook managed to find the creature again and though there were some close calls, we managed to vanquish the creature and claim our reward. This temple to some foul Dwarven God of greed has long been abandoned. In verifying that the temple was clear of more threats, we scouted and found some jewelry which we turned over to the excavators. Regardless our job was done and we took to getting a well deserved slumber. Early in the morning though, a stark naked excavator fled for his life, screaming of oozes. We readied ourselves and head back in only to find a mysterious room. Milo head inside, and as he explores the magics inside I find time to write this log. We might need to rush in if he does not return before too long...
Ah, speaking of the devil...
