Jackal was born in the heat of battle. The name, not the person. Most don't remember her name or what she was known as. Jackal is a fierce gladiator, winning a lot of her matches. She hasn't died yet so there's that.

before jackal, there was [ REDACTED ]. in the small village of medas, the only family she had left was her twin brother [ REDACTED ]. her brother tended to be a good influence on her, making sure she was fed, and safe. they were very close.
the village they lived in was close to a group of raiders who would often visit and demand supplies in exchange for protection.
 
one night, the village was attacked, burned to the ground. the twins ran, trying to keep each other up. her brother was wounded, and the girl pushed him out of the way. her hope was to buy him some time and with her father’s axe, took down two men. however she was only sixteen and weak from the lack of food and exhaustion finally taking over her physically.
 
the people who took her said something about how they’d catch her brother soon. but they were taken by her fierce fighting spirit and threw her into the pits to fight. she gained a scar and a nickname that day. it was said she was fast and fierce like a little jackal. she kept the name.
 
it was easy to separate herself from her old life. until she heard from some gossip that was a man by the name of garrick who was going around saving and sabotaging slavers near deadroot. jackal, who was now 30, hearing her brother may be alive--- well that made her think about how fast it would take to get there.
 
a match gone wrong, gave her the perfect time to make a fucking run for it. she took as much money as she could, her father’s greataxe, and got out of there. her eyes were to deadroot. even if it wasn’t him, or if he had moved on, that was all she needed.
