Personal history

Maze was orphaned when she was a baby. She grew up on the streets of Arl after running away from her orphanage. Whilst living on the streets, she was recruited by a small gang who quickly found out she was an excellent shot and highly intelligent. During her time with this group of people, she became quite adept with the use of sniper rifles, and not knowing any better, was manipulated into taking out enemy targets from a distance. Until her and her crew were arrested.
 
After the trial, she became a ward of the state due to her age (10). The government tested her and quickly found out about her high intelligence and aptitude with sniper rifles. She was placed on probation as long as she worked for the government and did what they said.
 
Not being above corruption itself, the city government kept Maze a secret. She was groomed to be a Technomancer and trained to use her magic with her weaponry. The government exploited her and her own trainers subjected her to abuses of every kind. This built extreme resentment within the heart of Maze and she began plotting her escape.
 
Mazikeen was sent on many missions. She understood what the government was doing to her and with her. Maze hated every moment of it, but did her best to go along, until the opportune moment to make good her escape arrived.
 
One day, she was sent on a mission by her commander. This mission was off world, but Maze had made a friend with similar features as her self. She paid this friend, a female Tiefling by the name of Scrant from Eox. They swapped clothing secretly so Maze's handlers did not see the switch.
 
When everything was clear, her friend boarded the transport off world whilst she slipped unnoticed into the shadows to take up a position to a hidden location where she could target her commander.
 
After a few hours her commander emerged from his home. Maze's eyes hyper focused on him, her hatred welling up inside her heart to such a degree that she didn't see his wife and new baby child next to him. She took her shot. The bullet found its mark, but the power of the bullet slid through her commanders corpse, and hit his wife and her new baby as well, dropping all three in one shot.
 
It took Mazikeen a while for her to realize what she had done. She found passage off planet and went to Absalom Station. Always looking over her shoulder, she now has a heightened sense of paranoia, a deep and dark sadness infests her heart over the things she has done and the people she has killed. In the quiet times of her life, her eyes are filled with tears letting out gentle sobs from time to time.
 
She has flown with a number crews over the years, running cargo of all sorts, keeping her background and her skills secret save for her technomancy. She is very private and doesn't let many people inside her emotional wall. Maze has a huge soft spot for orphans who are in similar situations that she was in, going out of her way to help them in any way she can when she meets one.
 
She is kind and soft-spoken. She does her best now to do no harm, but she is still rough enough around the edges to take no shit.

Mental Trauma

Living on the streets and her subsequent employment with the city government of Arl has caused her to have much emotional trauma. Enduring assaults of all sorts, she is a lot more fragile than she appears.
 
The deep scars of all her targets still haunt her every day, and in the quiet, her memory floods with all of their faces, along with all of her loved ones she has lost.
 
Her heart is broken. But finds the strength every day to carry on.
