Session 5 Downtime
After the events resulting in the escape from the fantastical flying city and the theft of an aircraft of unknown make, Yakub's primary focus is securing his place in Nakurtum's service by accomplishing his assigned task. After the elimination of the target at the convent and his resulting conversation with his chosen liege, he continues to provide assistance to the Coterie while also beginning his investigation of his next target. He was always a loyal childe of the Banu Haqim, but his strange circumstances now grant him the opportunity to serve a sect that is closer to Haquim's vision, to his own vision of what his line should have been. He dreads the day when he must warn Nakurtum of her possible fate, her death at the hands of a sibling and the decline of the clan that follows, but he will not allow it to come to pass if he can help it. He spends a great deal of time in the hidden enclave of the Banu Haquim, relishing the smells and feels of home. He offers Nakurtum's viziers the evidence he stole from the office at the convent, hopefully providing useful intel even though that was not his task and he was unable to confirm himself the value of his prize. He quietly hopes that one day he may be cleansed of the blood curse that marks him out even amongst his brethren.
When not devoted to his goals in service to his leader, Yakub attempts to assist his coterie while remaining largely out of the spotlight. He spends time with the blacksmith, trying to offer a gentler window into the new world he finds himself in than the one that Zack would offer. He works with Damien where necessary to improve his skills and help him grow as per his long-ago contract's terms, and he continues to keep an ear out for any hint of his original quarry who led them to this strange place and time.
