After a little bit of roaming the Salamander Coast on his own, Desmond found a home in Waterswake, where his tenacity and competitiveness were valued tremendously by Investor Loskov in his fighting rings. Desmond's small stature however, proved to be a disadvantage against some of the other fighters, so Desmond sought out the local blacksmiths, the Enoas. Po Enoa crafted him some lead lined gloves which Desmond used to supplement his physical strength, allowing him to rise to new heights as a professional fighter. After securing his 16th straight victory, Loskov proposed that should Desmond throw his next match, Loskov would provide Desmond with extra coin, and the name of a contact in Summersrest who could help him figure some things out about himself. Desmond, ever the competitor, threw his hands instead of the match, winning once again, and fleeing from an angry Loskov. Running from the arena, Desmond encounters who will be his two new companions, Po and Cecily, as he makes his exit from Waterswake, and begins his new life as an adventurer.
