Bodhrán Moor lived much of his life in The Shadow Marches before he was selected from his clan to seek out a cure to an obscure disease that has swept through the swamps of his home. Journeying to Morgrave University, Bodhrán has volunteered to stay on the staff of the university and pass on his fey knowledge of plants and horticulture under the condition that the university continues to send adventurers to help him cure the wounds in his swamp.
Bodhrán Moor was once one of the great gardeners of The Forest Queen in Thelanis before his actions forced the Queen to banish him from the realm. Bodhrán committed horrible atrocities against the humans near the feyspire at Shae Loralyndar when loggers attempted to harvest lumber from rare Fernian pines in the Queen's royal forests. After a particularly bloody raid into the Material Plane, Bodhrán was forced to answer for his crimes by The Forest Queen to prevent the humans from launching retaliatory attack against the fey. Abandoned in a strange place, the firbolg was protected by the Gatekeepers when the angry mob came for his head. Afterwards, he was trained and inducted into their order to protect the woods of the mundane world and prevent the resurgence of the daelkyr locked in Khyber.
Now, he is the Professor of Horticulture at Morgrave University, working in the Hadrill Gardens. He is known throughout the faculty as a kind soul, but is unitentionally alienating in his mannerisms. Unlike every other member of the faculty he does not rent or own a home near the university, choosing instead to sleep within the gardens.
Interestingly, when Bodhrán was not maintaining the gardens and teaching classes, he could be found wandering the Great Hall of Aureon muttering to himself in a foreign tongue and thumbing through the pages of an old book bound in bark.
When a distressing letter came to Bodhrán from his old friend Shaye at the Emerald Spire in the Shadow Marches, the firbolg convinced the university to fund an "expedition" to determine the academic (and monetary) value of the dangers that would alarm the Gatekeeper Druids. The university hired two mercenaries to accompany Bodhrán and Professor Whisper Pines to Slug Keep to help the powerful druids and return with knowledge and artefacts. Immediately set upon by Belashyrra and her cultists, the druid eventually was able to make it to the daelkyr fortress and help the band of heroes close the seal to Xoriat. This endeavor was not accomplished without a cost however, as the firbolg was driven to madness and forced to wander the swamps alone. He tore out his own eyes, believing that the daelkyr matron was looking through them, and now uses his fox companion (Rua) to see for him.
