Waking up from a short rest in the small encampment in the cities undergrounds we are well prepared for what dangers lie ahead. Climbing the stairs from the tunnels up to the street we are immediately greeted by the aura of death, the scent of ashes, and a group of cultists. With a glorious battle anthem and a slice from head to toe almost splitting a cultist in half Theoi and the group enter an epic battle. The two cultists behind the recently departed fall to the ground in slumber thanks to So’Togu. With a demonstration of strength, Theoi defeats one of the remaining cultists with a furious punch to the jaw. The rest of the foes were no match for the powerful group the last of which explodes into a void of death. After which we notice a worthy companion that had to join our side in the fight, a small kobold warlock named Varn.
Opening a door down the hall we enter into a grand hall of heroes with statues of knights of Ivandra and the Suntales Twins of Pelor and a statue of Captain Ritik. The grand hall contains two fiery imps who proved to be competent enemies, nearly fatally wounding So’Umbra and our new friend Varn. But after seeing that Theoi sends an intimidating strike straight through one of the imps causing the rest to flee in fear. As Theoi is the only one who should be worshiped we destroyed all the statues. The rest of the rooms in the hall were barracks containing belongings of previously living residents.
The very last room in the building is a chapel. Which contains an imp from the grand hall an acolyte and two horrific shadowy figures one tried to suck out Theoi’s soul and the other passed through a wall. Theoi backs off to let So’Umbra set the room ablaze with a powerful cast of Burning-hands that incinerates one of the shadow creatures and the acolyte, the imp still alive gets whacked by So’Togu leaving the imp barely alive.
We leave The Animals as they enter the streets of Gotwiel again ablaze, destroyed, a familiar sight.
