Feyre reaches her hand for the doorknob that will grant her entry into her new room. She sighs heavily and looks around. This wasn't her home. She barely knew these people. This felt, strange. She could feel the anxiety bubbling in her belly even now. She felt so anxious and scared these last few days. Sure, ever since what happened when she was a child had occurred and then later as she was older... but she got over that, mostly. Lately, she just felt on edge. Always scared. Rupta! It was her; her touch was what triggered the memories, brought up horrible feelings of the past. And then there was this town, this house even. They had barely been in the house a moment when there were already ghosts, strange noises and temperature drops. She shivered and wrapped her arms around her body. Taro darted from under her cloak and pushed his head against her chin, chittering softly to her. He always did help her, no matter what form he took. Her guardian. Her friend. She sat on the bed with him and coughed as a cloud of dust wafted from its unused covers. "Yuck... I'm going to have to wash these." She sat Taro down and began to unpack. Most of her belongings she put in the chest that was at the foot of her bed. Her clothing, what little she carried, was placed into the bureau on the left side of her room. Her books and journal she placed on the bookshelf at the right of the room. For a few moments Feyre lingered over the stone tables with runes that stood on either side of her bed. She would have to ask Rupta what they meant, if she could work up the nerve to let the lizard woman into her room. Truthfully, she was scared to be in such a big room alone now. She had wanted to be alone, now she was eating her words. She returned to the chest and pulled out a set of matching elf ears. "They arn't my favorites but they will have to do for now." she replaced the half set she now wore with the new ones. Checking to make sure that all of the coin, rations, and some waters were in her pack, Feyre made her way out of the Manor and on her way to 'The House' to gather supplies the group could use.
Feyre meets up with Ian and the pair work over the next several days to transport anything they think the group would want or need from the 'House' to the Manor. She was nervous that it was just the two of them, but the gnome seemed strong and capable. They talked a little about various things on the trips between the two houses. Once they made it to the Haunted House however, they spoke in quieter tones. There were still things that lurked within, and they didn't know what might have decided to enter since. The first day the pair was unsuccessful at gathering anything of use. The ghouls and zombie the group decided to avoid had somehow made their way out of the room and were roaming the halls. The pair put them down easily and decided to rest up for tomorrow.
The remainder of the week they were able to acquire items. Before they took the 'House' level by level, they did a quick sweep to make sure nothing else but them walked the halls. This allowed them to sweep one level at the same time, but each taking separate parts of the level. They would meet up once in a while when Ian yelled for her help to load a heavy object into Des's Bag of holding or the cart, or when Feyre yelled out because she saw a spider. This caused Ian to run into the room with a lit stick of dynamite once. He had just enough time to put it out before it exploded and killed them both. On that day, he didn't talk to Feyre again until they stopped for lunch.
Once when Feyre was on her own searching, she came across a hole in the wall. She recognized it as a rat hole. "Arn't rats known as pack rats?" she asked Taro. She placed her hands on the wall and leaned her ear against it to listen. Taro chittered and she ssshhhed him. Hearing nothing, she knocked softly on the wall and listened again. Again nothing. "Hmm Taro, I guess nobody is home." she giggled softly, something foreign for her lately, and with a swift kick, kicked at the rotted boards. Getting down on her knees she pried more of the boards away. Feyre cast Mage Hand and used it to scoop things out from the nest. She spent a while going through all she could pull out. Most of it was useless, stuffing from furniture, rat droppings, moldy food. The whole thing smelled disgusting, and it stung her eyes. But she knew the tame rats and weasels in her village liked to hide things. She hoped these rats did the same.
That day, she took a long hot bath. She washed her clothing in some perfumes she had from her disguise kit. After the group gathered for a meal, Feyre and Ian showed them what they had brought back from the 'House'.
