Episode 9: Anuriel, the Lady in Black.

So after me, Theren, and Skathor got all sidetracked with Granny Ninge we ran into Gray Iskander and Nef.
 
We got out of there like fast and blowing out the candle shut the door. The trip to the Feywild has begun to feel like a dream and I’m beginning to think it will all fade away in time. Which is why I wrote those four pages describing the detailed images and feelings the Feywild gave me. I wish I could draw those places to really capture it, but I don’t know how to do that. Anyway...
 
So Iskander explained what happened on the way back to Far Falls. So basically, Iskander loves the ladies a little too much and had that butterfly astral travel thingy and he was using that to fool around with Anuriel. So she tricked him and she’s been causing the human and goblin fighting for kicks. She’s kind of a jerk.
 
Theren and Nef were quite rude about his weaknesses, like they don’t have any problems. What a load! They need a good talking to sometimes.
 
Anyway we made it to town, were welcomed back and stuff and then Brother Gigg came over saying some goblins and humans were all riled up and gonna take the weapons off the merchant ship. So we went down to the docks in the Lower Wharf of Far Falls.
 
Nef did this awesome magic trick that made him look EXACTLY like Iskander, but he was like 4’2” instead of 6’5” so like it wasn’t perfect but he got up on a horse and it wasn’t too bad.
 
So we made our way down there and we tricked the rioters and started to get them to disperse.
 
Then the Lady in Black! Anuriel! Iskander’ should ex-girlfriend! Showed up and started turning the merchant ship staff against us with magic.
 
I got all excited and ran deep into the enemy ranks and I was doing alright until Anuriel came at me. It was scary. She was sooo tough. Skathor saved me with some Tower healing.
 
The rest of the guys were doing good. Theren shot arrows, Skathor hammered and spelled, Nef put people to sleep and shot green bolts of Eldritch energy. In the end Theren was able to slice her pendant off her with his scimitar and she faded back to the Feywild... I think.
 
Afterwards things got weird. Iskander asked for his token broach back so he could destroy it and Theren and Nef got all “finders keepers, losers weepers” with Iskander who could wipe the floor with both of them I think. Kinda risky. Besides his bad girlfriend stole his stuff, it still his stuff. I tried to explain that to those two and Theren seemed to come around, reluctantly.
 
Skathor and Gray were quiet on the subject. Not sure how I feel about that.
 
Anyway... Theren said he’d destroy it himself. Iskander was cool with that and so I was cool with that too.
 
Then Nef scooped it off and ran away jumping off the ship. Theren followed and then I followed. While Theren wrestled with Nef, I knocked it out of his hand and destroyed it.
 
Nef was mad at first and then sort of apologetic. He’s a weird little thing. He explained later but Iskander never bought it. The non-Nefs were congratulated and became heroes of Far Falls, which is pretty cool. We met the Countess and all kinds of people and went to fancy parties. We got magical rewards and we’re allowed to stay rent free at Iskander’s place while he does some kind of quest of atonement for being a horndog.
 
So we’re cool, but like, Nef and to a lesser extent Theren worry me.
 
But they always have, really.
 
Well I’ll meditate on that and thank Khaia like usual.
