The black ooze thing was freaky and weird and it burned and splashed itself whenever we attacked, defending ourselves at the Green Door Tavern. We were able to defend the villagers and kill these creatures in the middle of the night, but there was an acidic hole in the ceiling and some other burns. The people were mostly alright.
Even though it was late and we were very tired we took off into the night to rescue the children from the old fort on the hill. Throut, a child’s father, led us there through the creepy night.
As we got close I merged with the spirit of the ground and we became much stealthier for awhile. We came up with a plan with Nef creating a distraction. He has some magics that can do that kind of thing. But we never saw it and he came running back to us saying he was being chased by another black ooze.
So we moved forward hoping it might not find us, which might be silly because I did light a torch at some point. Anyway it caught up to us, another ooze came out of , like from the stone walls themselves! Throut saw his daughter in a cage on the fort wall and took off running. Skathor took off after him to try and keep them safe.
So me, Gray, Theren and Nef fought the oozes. It was hard and me and Gray got splashed quite a bit. Gray especially, big guy was looking rough. So we freed the two kids we found and sent them back to the Green Door with Throut and Gray, because he looked so banged up and all.
But as they left we saw the tall and skinny hag/witch/creature blocking our way! Oh boy.
