Mystery Doors

by Gimizh Crystalgleam

As their friends depart to the skies, Gimizh gathers their many notes and drawings of the school and its buildings; a rough copy of the main building's blueprint sketched on the backside of a homework assignment. With great precision Gimizh sketches the southmost corridors of the main castle, at least those they've been in, before settling on their haunches, looking at the many rooms that must be explored until they can find this mystery door that has eluded them. With a little sigh, knowing it'll be some time before Thuersdai and the Morgan returns, they find a small poorly treated journal, writing a new entry.

Today has been such a busy day! We are OFFICIALLY an adventurer group! Still need a name, so that's going in my think-tank. Hmm... 'The Troubles', or maybe 'Gimizh and the Dark Ones', or 'Nightflowers', or maybe 'Dracmoore's Elite', or maybe... ok i can't actually think of any good ones. I feel like we spoke of something earlier and I fully forgot? Ada Crystalgleam used to say 'if you forgot, it probably wasn't important'. They stopped saying that after the -accident-, though. So I hope it wasn't a really good idea... but! I'll keep trying!
I've been scouring the castle for a hidden tower!! It's apparently the home of mr school owner/possibly a dragon, and you can't see or touch it on the outside! It's hidden so well, i doubt most people know it's a thing at all! But I found an old tome, dusty and all, and no secret escapes my keen eye... I'm Gimizh, the true-seeker. OH! 'Truth Seekers'? No, it doesn't have that ka-pow we need.
Also, should I really be trying to break into someone's home? But I mean, he's out and, oh right, he's out and now Thuersdai and the Morgan are prowling the mountains for the dragon! We don't know if mr school owner/could be a dragon is a dragon, but we know it's alive! Thuersdai found *proof*, be being real sneaky-like with the little spiky people (name? something beginning with 'e'?), because she used that magic trick with her tooth (HOW does she do it, though? I tried to at all pull my tooth and i will NOT be doing that again, the nurse was VERY cross with me. he said, "Don't do that, Gimizh, teeth don't grow out that fast!", and "you're lucky i caught it soon enough to put it in!" but HERS does, ... maybe that's why she drinks blood? so that she can regenerate her teeth and nails? *there is a little sketch of Thuersdai with blood running down her mouth and smiling goofily* "omnomnom, Gimizh, your blood makes my teeth grow!!", that's what she thinks, i think.
OH RIGHT I keep forgetting, the QUEST. So, we are to find a magical beast and take something from it as proof! The Morgan immediately insisted we try to get dragon stuff, which, like, i didn't think was possible because they're really hard to fight but he's like "No we are going to ask it nicely" and honestly, i think it's a great plan because we only need, like, ONE scale from it?? So that should be really ok, if it is at all reasonable. I hope they don't find it while they are alone out there.... Oh no now i am worried they are going to die and i am going to have to find their bodies and then i'll die because the dragon will be like 'Noo, these bodies are a part of my trove' and i will be like 'but i have to take them to their parents' and the dragon will be like 'nu-uh' and gobble me up too! i don't want our team to be 'Food for dragons'... that's just, not a good team name.
Also, the Morgan got beat up in Mimic practice and I am SO happy I quit because he's all grumpy-like and it's really, really funny (if you read this Morgan, no it's not, i am lying. you are never funny, just cool, i swear, also it's rude to read people's journals)

I'll have to go find that invisible door now! I have mapped all the rooms, so if I am quick I might find it before 'the Gang' is back! Nope, did not like that name either. Finding this name is like finding a jewel in a landslide.

Ok, bye Journal!

At the very end of it is a drawing of three figures, one broad shouldered with horns, another gaunt with long dragon hair, and in between them a stocky, smiling figure holding their hands. Under them it says 'The Gang'
