Spending time aboard this tiny ship was uncomfortable before our stop in Fodon, and now that our captain has decided to take on cargo it's even worse. Carrying a large amount of spice on a trip to Mythgulch wasn't the type of business that I expected this crew to be involved in, but no matter. The joys of the trip to Mythgulch were that people didn't bother me while I worked, also the fact that the kenku, Grim, was kind enough to allow me to borrow a book on the topic of fey. It was an interesting read overall, detailing some basic information about fey and the different courts that they inhabit. It argues that the two courts aren't a parallel of good and evil, but instead that they are more akin to expressions of extreme emotion. The fey are truly interesting creatures, but not as interesting as Grim seems to be. He reminds me of the game "What doesn't belong" that I used to play during my childhood where I would observe a group of people and see which of them didn't fit. There was usually at least one person who didn't seem to fit the overall theme of the group and Grim seems to prove that the rule still holds true. I think that it comes down to the fact that Grim doesn't seem immediately dimissive, bordering hostile, towards those around him. Then again he is also treated like an infant by these people, which is mildly patronising given the fact that he is an adult, and quite proficient in killing things.
Grim was also kind enough to inform me that Bo has a pearl of power in his possession, which would be funny if it wasn't so inexplicably irritating given that he is surrounded by people who use magic, but instead he chooses to keep it for himself. He described the abilities that he has to me, he is sneaky and good at stabbing things with his rapier. It's not the most overly inspired skillset but I suppose that we can't all have impressive talents. He would make a good assassin, but instead he serves aboard a ship that seems to transport cargo. I'd ask him more about himself, but if he has a problem admiting to ownership of a pearl of power then I doubt he would open up around me. Which is no great loss to me really.
Mythgulch is an interestingly chaotic place, and that's speaking from the perspective of someone who recently left Vulcrom. Their devotion to Umberlee is quite pronounced, and anyone who is in any doubt about the primary faith of this city is an idiot. We were able to witness the process by which they select the new high priest. It was an entertaining battle to witness, two people trying their best to kill the other. It was somewhat refreshing to be honest. It's a pity that being the high priest of the Umberlee church doesn't mean much.
I neglected to mention it so far. Sanna wants to find someone by the name of '"Eddie" and our contact at the docks actually knew him, which was fortuitous for her I suppose. However, nothing in this world is free and we had to perform a service to recieve the information. This would be all well and good if not for the fact that Captain Von Balthazar was back from the dead and raiding the seas again. He proved to be quite a powerful individual, and he offered us a chance to assist him in gathering blood for his beloved vampire wife. Sadly she wasn't the type of powerful that I was looking for, so we had to fight Von Balthazar. It was quite satisfying to see him die after all of the trouble that he had caused me. The last person to fell him was, Sheylyn Abulnath, one of the most influencial figures in the history of Vulcrom so if I needed more proof about my capabilities then it has been provided.
