Setting out for our journey, we stopped by the shrine to Thrae in Norbank, thankfully close to where we would be departing from the city! It was a slow walk, thanks to Melli's gait, but we left early and were only briefly waylaid by an evangelical heretic preaching about how the dragons are false gods. Melli was distraught, but we kept going and I made sure we didn't make eye contact to have to give him any coppers.
In the temple, I left a few silver for any travellers that need them, then went to watch over Melli. She pulled out a few bags of flower petals from her garden and scattered them, then watched the sky for a bit. "Mighty Thrae, your voice is the wind. I beg you continue to aid my knight." I won't put the rest in here, but it would touch your heart, I think, to hear her voice as she prayed for you to be well. I think it will work, because the wind took her offering.
Unfortunately the preacher was in the fountain square, so I had to put our first break off a while longer - the pebble in my shoe was really hurting at that point anyway, so it was a good idea. She fell for it easy, and even agreed to take a little bit of her medicine for pain (though I did have to make her feel a little guilty, I'm afraid. Sorry! *there is a drawn sad connie face here, flower included*). When we got to the docks it reeked, but Schwartz stepped ahead and talked to someone in charge, then came back to tell us we could go.
Fuck boats. I ended up putting myself to sleep, but Melli and Schwartz had Finn with them when they met with the captain. They had to choke down a bowl of some really gross gruel, because my magic kept me out for eight hours, but the first thing I did was start cooking when I woke up. People were looking at me weird the entire time, for some reason, though.
