A Wild Ride / Lick the Stick
The Festival at Delma
Tiberius woke up!
Milo found a nearby vendor selling strange blue meat; it was good (we tried it) and also bought from him a strange liquid that is used for cooking (an oil?) that doesn't evaporate (high smoke point).
Tiberius meanwhile had found a stall of oddities, amongst which we found (and purchased):
- a stick of licking, a stick that can be licked around once an hour to experience a random taste
- a rope of holding that can pull or hold any weight up to half of a ton (1k pounds)
- a hot rock (ring of warmth). Kajura particularly likes the hot rock
My sister Bee has, of course, disassociated.
The orc
(I nat 20'd a hotness check on a nearby orcish smith)
Nearby, under a statue to an elf (titled "Jobe"), the most beautiful orc I have ever seen is hammering away at piece of paper. Jarek, though, is oblivious to all except this gorgeous, gorgeous orc. Milo, from atop my shoulders: "breathe, Jarek, breathe" . The paper is a scroll of scroll of tooth-pulling (which I course bought).

The orc's name is Braun, and he agreed to get drinks with Jarek later. They'll meet after an afternoon show (around fourish) in the tavern Braun likes.
We passed an alchemist's shop as well, manned by an air elemental.
Drinks & a show
As the party gathered, Bee asked me (Jarek) about Braun, and the princess, and herself -- "two many for you?". Jarek is just happy.
Checking in with Princess Leah: "Yeah I had fun! Bought some trinkets, met some people", She expressed interest in learning how to wield a knife. A princess that wants to be an assassin.
The Greatest Show

Garith Baltair is the showman, A great elemental mage (wizard), he begins by flashing around magic before calling for help from the audience. "For my next trick, I will magically teleport a volunteer to the hot air balloon my assistant Roose is flying hundreds of feet above us.
Of course, Leah is chosen. Jarek and Bee both find this a terrible idea. Milo, and the crowd, are in support. And so Leah descends to the stage.

Hot Air Balloon Chase
The group (Jarek) runs after the hot air balloon.
Sera and Bee split off to bother Braun for another [scroll of bounce before chasing after everyone.
At the city gates Tiberius spots large ballista that are used to protect Delma. He forces his way to the ramparts and preps a bolt. First shot hits the balloon's basket; the weight slowly causing the balloon to drift earthward.
As Sera and Bee catch up to Tiberius first, Sera wordlessly jumping onto one of the bolts. The second ballista shot was true, and Sera rocketed through the air.
In the basket, Garith "introduced" Sera to Tiny, his baby (cat-sized) displacer beast. Sera tells the princess to drink Jarek's potion and jump -- which she does, before Sera does the same (casting snare to prevent bouncing around). This string of events ends up with the group (minus Tiberius) "saving" the princess and Garith Baltai (Team Rocket) blasting off into the horizon. Meanwhile, Tiberius -- finding himself on the wrong side of the law -- is narrowly caught ("this is the time you almost caught... uh... the caped crusader?!") before leaping out of a window to safety.
Storytime
Bee - back-scar: one winter at the monastery, while skipping class, Bee met a cat and went to tend to its kittens, born in a crawlspace above the class she was supposed to be attending.
Jarek - the first spell I cast: after beholding a sign from Saldar, and fetching a glass orb from the village glassblower, I (and Kajura) used this focus to cast my first spell.
Milo - Merrimack reunion: during a family reunion, Milo's mother ordered her kids around, and his family was loud and boisterious and just a lot, and basically to calm him down his mother showed Milo the family recipe for stew (and it turned out tasting great!).
Sera - my second-best scar: beasts appeared in Baba's forest from the fey-plane, and I was cocky enough to get a few too many scars (*shows scar*).
Tiberius - a man's loss: Tiberius met a man who'd lost his goat (aptly named Princess), and after a search found her (and healed her) by fending off a bear. He was given a frying pan (his frying pan) as a result.
Onwards & upwards
To get off the crater island, we're going to head to North Harbortown. Thankfully it wasn't a difficult trip, and we found another ferry about after a week of travel.
Dead water
About halfway through the ferry ride, the winds die down. That, coupled with storm clouds on the horizon and a strange group of figures approaching, signals danger ahead. Tiberius, Sera, and Bee recognize hooded figures, like the the one that ambushed us on the way to Delma.
We are faced with:
"In case of shark, break glass" -- harpoons on board.
