It has been weeks since we've north (and east) through Saria towards Yorne Pass
The temple, Carceri's Vault
"At best, this weather is miserable". In the middle of a storm of icy rain and heavy winds, we came across a ruined temple in the rocky highlands. The old stone door was guarded by an ancient elvish ritual.. Sera and Milo together deciphered it: through some strange way, we need to give up our memories.
For Jarek, he gave up how he came to Saldar. The story of learning of Saldar, of the wonder that first crossed him. Now, he knows only that he follows Saldar, the harbinger of light -- he doesn't know why or for how long.
Now, he is a zealot.
Upon entering the temple, I discovered iconography that I could pull from my previous religious studies -- this is a temple to the celestial Carceri. They are a patron to artifacts, and I have notes on its connection to the collection of objects.
Sera, Milo, and Tiberius headed further into the vault. Bee and I checked the room we had entered for more info; we found nothing more to help us identify the vault, but we did notice that Princess Leah was paling and feverish. We Vespulas debated what to do.
A forgotten museum
The three delving the hallways beneath us found the vault's museum of sorts, hallways full of items or exhibits in various states of decay and "stolen or left behind".
Though we "slept", there is no way to tell how long we slept for.
As a group we headed back down into the temple
The key. Sera took a key, unmarked and strangely out of place (though "on display").
Arcane bolts. Sera also took a quiver of bolts, ones that "sewed" themselves into her with a mysterious power.
A fork. Milo took a strange fork. It seems to force the user ("eater") from describe
every and all flavors present in that food.
Gold. TIberius took a huge bag of gold that seemed void of magical influence. He counted out half a' thousand pieces.
A bell. Bee took a small silver bell. She rang it, and "felt like something ethereal joined her". Then, she put it back.
The mountain pass behind you
After we bickered and investigated, I intervened to take the princess and find the way out. There was a cellar door in the ceiling (it took almost an hour to find). It took us outside, back to the wintery tundra. In a nearby
After Milo had a particularly strong "emotional reaction", Jarek now hates the
fork of foodie. As a rift opened to another space and time, and a creature emerged, so too did Milo hate the
fork. The creature was some kind of interdimensional crystalline hound. We defeated it pretty handily, but Jarek and Bee fear we only spooked it (that it will come back).
On, towards the Badlands
We traveled a few days through light snow as we headed south. Our next challenge will be the Calmlands.
