June 30th

I told Caelen about my history with the Fated. I’m not sure why, I’m sure Telamont would think it was a stupid thing to do. But I don’t enjoy keeping secrets and I think he is the most likely to have an understanding, especially since he is apparently wanted by the Harmonium. Although I suppose I am as well, after what happened at the bookstore. I don’t know that he will understand, but I owe Søren an explanation, that was unfair to put him in that situation.

This was the symbol of the Fated that was on the bag I took from that pickpocket. Tivuum, the proprietor of the antiquities store, took the bag from me, which is what started this whole mess in the first place. I will say, it’s a bit of a relief to know that Tinwë and Doc also have some troubles in their pasts coming after them, although I know that doesn’t bode well for us. We’re in the Outlands now, so hopefully that will afford us a brief respite.

Søren had a strange moment with the dragonborn, Yalkulash, who was guarding the warehouse where the portal to the Outlands was hidden. Something flashed on Søren's hand, and Yalkulash had an odd reaction to it and then lowered the cost of entry. Upon Soren asking, he revealed that Søren has a dragonmark, a gift given by one of the true dragons to someone who they deem special or trustworthy, and Søren mentioned that he did something he “probably shouldn’t have done” that the amethyst dragon he was with appreciated. I am extremely curious about the nature of what he did, but I don’t want to press him if he doesn’t want to tell us.

Speaking of the Outlands, we’ve had quite the time so far. Two separate encounters with wyverns left myself and Gwydion a little worse for wear. Tinwë encountered a pair of grey-skinned dwarves while we were sleeping, and we also met a group of Gith’yanki that were travelling with a baby dragon. They had traveled here to raise their young, but had a run-in with the Mercy Killers and their offspring were lost. They introduced themselves as Cireka, Simyaz, and Urlon, and told us we’d have friends in Tu’narath if we ever made our way there. If I’m remembering my studies correctly, the Gith’yanki have ventured into Baator thousands of years ago to create an alliance of sorts with Tiamat, hence the relationship with red dragons. I believe the Fated helped broker that deal.

Gwydion is quite upset with me, and I don’t blame him. I wish I could be a better wizard for him, maybe that would solidify our relationship a little more.
